Our foster puppies enjoying Spring
|
Spring is right around the corner and while we're dreading the impending heat, we're loving the currently cool weather. Everything is in bloom and the animals are happy as clams!
In case you missed it, things have been a bit hectic at our den these days. Our Alpha Male (Sam) contracted a dangerous illness called MRSA through an innocent little cortisone shot.
(If you're interested, you can read all about our exploits here.) He's on the road to recovery and we'll keep you all updated through
our blog.
The Fosters: We have three foster puppies who have stopped by for a couple of months. They were abandoned on the steps of Animal Control on New Years Eve, so we let them join the pack for awhile.
We adopted one to a great family, but two more need a fur-ever home!
They can sit, lay down, beg
(they're really good at begging) and are very short-haired, so not much shedding. They get along with other dogs AND cats (The Cog has taught them how to behave properly). We think they are a mix of Collie and Husky, so they will be very large when they're grown (around 80 lbs at least). They're both fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. The female has one blue eye and the male has a crooked tail (too cute)! If you know of someone who is looking for a great pup, have them
contact me.
Contests & Giveaways: We've been working really hard to get great gifts for our pack! Qualifications vary for each contest, but all are ridiculously simple - just check out our
contest page each week to learn how simple.
Remember, even if you don't personally need one of our giveaways, it would be a
great donation to a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization and we'll ship directly to the group in your name.
Please take a moment to enter so we can continue offering these great free products!
(Here's what we've given away so far)
Seals of Approval: We're excited to offer our "Seal of Approval" on products that we review and love. If you're one of these products, please contact me so I can get you your seal. Pack - look around for these seals when buying your next toy or treat! It means that the products are manufactured to last, developed with pets, and overall great buys!
(We have one for cats, too!)Travel News: We're very excited to continue our safe-pet-travel work with
Toyota in 2011. Toyota is committed to make travel with pets safe, and we're determined to help them get this message out. Take a look at our all-new "
travel with pets" section - filled with great tips on travel safety. We're going to be covering some
weekend getaways for pet lovers this summer and hope you'll tag along for the adventure!
(It should be pretty interesting knowing our penchant for drama).New Pack Member: Because things have been so busy around the den, we asked a new writer to join the pack. Help me welcome
Tammy Souch! (And don't miss her regular column on
Examiner.)
