Hello, again, dear friends! Here's hoping this newsletter finds you in your favorite capris and sleeveless top sipping iced sweet tea and planning your summer holiday adventures.
Chris Capista, I dub thee a WHO ***
I'm delighted that the first PaperWhimsy Art Challenge of 2010, Get Your Whimsy On, was such a smashing success. The artwork was positively, well, whimsical and such a joy to behold. Over the course of the next several newsletters I will be sharing more of the submissions with you. Above, we have the regal work of the very talented Chris Capista.
But now... there is also a WINNER I must announce - you know, the $50.00 gift certificate to the PaperWhimsy shoppe thing that was also part of this challenge. This was awarded in a random drawing of the participants and I'm delighted to share that the WINNER is the remarkable Nancy Maxwell James! You can see Nancy's very whimsical entries along with her other gorgeous creations by clicking HERE.
Congratulations, Ma'amselle Nancy!
P.S. Stay tuned for another challenge later this summer that should prove to be most interesting. 'Nuff said...
Yes yes yes! I have more lovely new stuff sprouting most delectably on the PaperWhimsy shelves. And yeah, though PaperWhimsy is a virtual store, there are some real shelves lurking around here and yes they are, indeed, full.
Several lovely papers and embellishments from Webster's Pages along with gorgeous Tattered Angels chip alpha/frames. An encore appearance of the very popular Que Sera Notecards & other sundry and assorted bits to keep you happily creating at your art table.
Several new collage sheets available in download or print! I'm very excited about all the new bits in the shoppe including the new lines from Webster's Pages (which is also a new line to PaperWhimsy) and the brand new pretty faces available in PDF download or print.
You can always find all the new stuff by going to the New Bits category in the shoppe and of course, that very tasteful and lovely New Bits button, above, will transport your excited little selves over there most expeditiously.
I hope you enjoy.

Okay, I've promised that I'll try not to talk about this book anymore. What I do want to talk about, though, is the winner of the drawing for my extra copy. I know you want to hear about that (especially if you're the winner). A hearty congratulations to Carolyn Huber!
Carolyn, I hope you enjoy this lovely little book :) And for everyone else who entered their name (and to those who didn't) stay tuned for another free book drawing - I already have something in mind :)
So, no more about that one book... you know the one... which provides me with the opportunity to gush over my latest love affair (not to worry, dear Draw, it's another book). I am biblio-addicted. I just can't seem to quit collecting them biblios. Kids, it's, well... it's darn right pure goofiness this compulsion I have to buy books. But the good thing about so many books in my library is that I can give you a heads up on what's really tickling my fancy. And in turn, I hope my suggestions tickle yours.
My newest crush?

Here's a sneak peek at what's inside and why I am so over the moon about this book...
The photography is much better in the book than what I've represented here :)
Lots of lovely photographs to get you in the mood to create something amazing with a vintage flavor and even some step-by-step craft projects that are really quite precious. What I particularly love about this book is that with every read I walk away with several new ideas. I'm thinking you might, too. You can click on that "Take a peek" link, above, to... take a peek... get inspired... fall in love.
And before I bid adieu and leave you to your lovely Sunday, one last thing - a little gift from me to you. Please feel free to use this in your paper&glue or digital art for your own personal enjoyment. Gale xo Click on the image to download. Questions about Terms of Use can be answered HERE. ***
