This coming Friday I'm meeting with several artsy friends for a weekend Pajama Party of antiquing, shopping, laughing and creating. We're coming at Ann Arbor from all different angles: Colorado, Florida, Canada, Texas, Ohio, Canada, Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, Canada (three gals from Canada)...
I'm doing my usual "last minute" stuff (which is everything I need to do because I put it off til the last minute): getting my hair "done", packing my bag/s, pulling out my art supplies... losing five pounds (so I can gain it all back again this coming weekend). It's going to be a ball.
In the meantime I thought it might be kind of nice to spread the joy. No reason you can't be partying in your neck of the woods while I'm partying in Ann Arbor. So I've got a couple of joyful announcements for this very short but very sweet newsletter.
First, a little freebie. Draw and I went on a photo shoot last weekend to a neat little town a few miles up the road from us, Noblesville. I like this little town because... well, one, Draw and I got married there and two, they have some great alleys loaded with photo ops. Neat things like peeling paint, rusty doors, broken windows. My kind of town.
While we were lurking through one of the alleyways, this little nondescript door jumped out at me. What a canvas! I got to thinking, man, I'd love to see what wonderful whimsical things could be done with this door and from that thought came this one: I propose we have a door party and make a bit of a contest out of it to boot.
