Happy Last Day of May!
Well, it's that time of year when this whimsical gal starts thinking about new camera equipment and new duds. Yep, it's Holiday Time. The time of year that puts happy grins on the faces of even the grumpiest of people. Not me, of course, grumpy, that is. I'm only occasionally harried and overwrought but a big grin, on my face, the thought of vacation does put.
We're planning our annual sojourn to the Garden of England in glorious Kent. My English husband needs his yearly recharge of "Englishness" so he continues to be utterly charming and and I need my "whimsy" vitamins along with the sheer joy of filling 32 Gigs worth of memory cards with memories.
Already got my new camera toys - purchased a Lensbaby along with a few of their weird and wacky filters. I also, with very little coaxing, got out of my jammies and took a trip to J. Jill for some new duds. Oh, and a visit to Kohl's for some new faerie slippers, in the off chance that the Queen requires an audience with me. I need to be properly shod. And yes, those babies are shiny metallic silver.
We will have computer access throughout our journey so I hope to post to my blog every few days to keep you all informed of our adventures. I'll also try to post a few pics, as I did last year. Besides my PaperWhimsy blog I also have "Gale's Blog" (which I ignore, unforgivably, until we go on holiday). Draw's blog is also a great way to stay in touch with what we're up to, if you have a hankering to get his view of our travels. Which his views are always fun and funny (no pressure, Draw). And now, on with the show. Have a lovely rest of Sunday and may a glorious week with lots of art and happy moment unfold for you. Warmest, Gale

Napkin Art
|
Rande has been at her art table with a vengeance. You can check out all her wonderful pieces by clicking on "Inspire" at the top of any page on the PaperWhimsy website.
Rande has provided a quick tutorial to let you in on her creative process for creating the several pieces she's featured in her PaperWhimsy and Paper Napkins post. These wonderful collages are pure eye candy - but grab a paper towel to wipe the drool from your chin. Save your napkins for your art. Napkins can be a bit pricey but I have a special little treat for you (information, below, in "New Collage Sheet Inspirations") to help get you started in napkin art. Stay tuned and be sure to pop on over to Rande's post!

New Collage Sheet Inspirations
|
Several new and very pretty faces that I hope will inspire you. I dug through all my antique photos and found several faces that just screamed "collage sheet!"
A sampling: meet Aurora Starling, Sylvie Flowers, Joey Summerson, Felicienne Pink, Susannah Pink and Avril Fleurs. There are a total of 10 new sheets to inspire, one digital collage sheet and nine pretty faces. You can see all the new collage sheets by clicking on the New Bits button, below.
Now for the little treat... for every new collage sheet you purchase from the New Goodies section of the shoppe, you will receive a free napkin chosen from my collection. These napkins are so very pretty and
they're top quality from some the premier paper napkin distributors. If you are ordering several new sheets I will try my hardest to make sure that you receive no duplicates of your free napkins.
I also have napkin samplers available in the shoppe for a limited
time. The samplers are random, a dozen (12) different napkins
in each sampler, for a very tiny price. You can
click HERE or the New Bits button, below, for a peek (and to add to your
cart). OR go to Pretty Papers and look under Papiers!
Bon Apetit!

Greetings to Keepsakes
|
Birthdays, Anniversaries, Graduations, New Babies, New Homes...
There are so many special events in every person's life. Celebrating those special days in the form of a card is what keeps the card industry flourishing and that's a very good thing. But there is nothing better to celebrate special days than a handmade one-of-a-kind card made especially for the occasion.
Rande has whipped up several wonderful cards to inspire you. And with a bit of pretty paper, glue and PaperWhimsy images, perhaps a ribbon or paper flower or two (or gem, charm or trinket) you can commemorate anyone's special day with a handmade card that will surely become a keepsake.
Check out Inspire, or click on the card below, to see more of Rande's beautiful cards.

While We're Away...
|
Much as I love our yearly holiday, I freak out at the prospect of leaving PaperWhimsy home, alone.
The PaperWhimsy shoppe will be open, as it always is, but because this little slice of heaven is a one-woman operation I won't be here to print, pick, pack and post from June 12 through June 28. Items purchased June12-28, that require printing, picking, packing and posting will begin shipping on June 29.
There will be
no delays, however, with digital downloads purchased during our holiday. Digital downloads will continue to be available as soon as you remit payment. If you've elected to pay by check your download will be available to you when I return home.
In the meantime, there are still several days left to order before Draw and I head out the door so pop on over to the shoppe.
Happy days!
