A bit of inspiration and some new goodies that are peppering the virtual shelves of the Paperwhimsy shoppe.

Hope you enjoy!

Happy Winter, Happy Holidays!
It is frigidly cold here in Indiana but my heart is filled with happy and cheery thoughts which warms me to my toes (along with two pairs of socks and some very fluffly maroon and purple slippers).  I hope you're keeping yourself warm this Holiday Season, as well!  And for those who are living in sunny climes, how about bottling some of that sunshine up and shooting it on over in this direction?

I'm headed for a very quick newsletter this month because we're down to the Holiday wire and if you can find a spare few minutes for yourself, right now... well, I don't want to bit into all of it.

Rande has been creating some very wonderful and whimsical Christmas art and you can see it on her new blog.  Yes, NEW blog as in new location... take a peek at the new header on paperwhimsy.com and you'll see the word "inspire" because that's what Rande does.  She inspires.  Click on "inspire" and you'll be transported to her wonderful world of art.

And for some adorable and homey ornaments check out these, above,  Cream wool felt, velvet flowers and leaves... pretty little ribbons.  You can create a few of these in one sitting with little left over bits.  Again, you can take a quick faerie-hop over to Rande's new blog to get some quick how-tos from her, by clicking on the picture.

As for me, I have a new blog, as well, and I've called it... blog.  You'll find it in the same general vicinity as Rande's but don't expect too much.  It won't be as exciting and certainly not as inspiring as Rande's, BUT, I will be posting little news bits from time to time and little freebies.  Ooo!  Okay... might want to look there now.

I wanted to send out a quick reminder that the Christmas digis are expiring on December 31st.  These were my first annual Christmas digis and wanting to make them special I made them a limited ediition.  Many of the designs are crossovers.  You can use them for non-Christmas art.  If you've not snapped up a few, you have a few more days in which to do so.

So, I say to you, a very merry morning/afternoon/evening wherever you may be.  Please keep warm and maybe take a few minutes for yourself to read, be inspired, just enjoy.

Blessed Holidays to you and yours,

Last Minute Giftie Promo!
I am most happy to report that my shopping is done and all my presents are wrapped and I did all my shopping online.  Bless the internet, the boon of pajama-wearing-people around the world.  But if I needed one more gift what to do what to do?

Gift Certificates via e-mail, that's what.  The gift will get to the recipient in plenty of time and you'll look like the way-together-gift-giving-holiday-queen that you are.  And did you know that PaperWhimsy sells such a thing?  Filled with all the Whimsy you could wish for anyone at this most whimsical time of year?

Draw, like an artsy little Christmas elf, has been at his computer configuring the sweetest little gift certificate ever because we want the wrapping to be just as pretty as the gift.

Gift Certificate Preview
How pretty!

So, in the Spirit of Giving and because I'd like to introduce you to our lovely new Whimsy-cal Gift Certificate, here's what I propose...

For every $25 you spend on gift certificates when your shopping cart is tallied, I will present to YOU a gift:  $5 in Whimsy Bucks to use on yourself in 2009.  So if you buy $25 you get a fiver, if you spend $50, you get $10, if you spend $75, you get $15, etc., etc.

Now, the gift certificates you purchase during this promotion are available as quickly as they are emailed which is pretty darned quick.  You hit the submit button after completing your payment and the gift certificate is emailed to your recipient and it's ready to spend.  Your Whimsy Bucks will follow on January 1, 2009, for use anytime during the year.  AND if you've already checked off all the names on your list... well, was your name there?  You can buy gift certificates for yourself to make purchases at any time in the PaperWhimsy shoppe and during this promotion you'll receive the extra Whimsy bucks from me.

Delightful to be sure and a smashing double-duty gift idea.

Small print: only one gift certificate can be used per purchase so if you're buying for yourself please keep that in mind.  The purchase of a gift certificate cannot be made using a gift certificate.  Whimsy Bucks will be awarded on January 1st, 2009, and will be delivered in a lump sum via a PaperWhimsy Gift Certificate so they can be used most advantageously.  Balances of gift certificates are active until completely used.  This special Whimsy Bucks Gift Certificate promo expires at the stroke of midnight Christmas Eve EST.  The Whimsy Bucks earned in this promotion will not be combined with Whimsy Bucks you may have earned in any previous promotion.

Pretty Pretty Everywhere
Silk Ribbons

Pretty silk ribbons back in the shoppe.  Lovely and so needed as the blustery wind blows outside our windows.  You can find them in the Ribbons section of the shoppe or by clicking the photo above.
Enameled Dragonflies

These whimsical enameled dragonfly charms turned out to be quite popular - they flew out of the shoppe as fast as they flew in.  They're back!  You can find them in Trinkets & Beads or by clicking on the photo.
All I Want for Christmas is Spring
"Dried" Flora

I love these kind of vintage chichi looking "dried" flowers.  I currently have them in three colors - a delightful little addition to your artsy concoctions - you'll find them and lots more in Pretty Petals.

Prima Fleurs

These Prima flowers are back by popular demand.  A tube of about 60 in various colors and patterns.  Flowers can brighten up even the coldest day!  Find these in Pretty Petals, as well.
Prima Bling

And a new diversion of mine... Prima Crystals.  These are so pretty and easy to stick on.  Easy Peasy way to add some bling to your art.  You'll find them in the Trinkets & Beads section.

A Book of Days...
I have been hot and heavy over at Amazon the last few weeks - one of my favorite places to shop apart from, well, my place - so I have a couple of wonderful recommendations for you that will start your 2009 out on the right foot in a wonderful artsy way.  This is my second year of buying these calendar/journals (Rande turned me on to them last year).  I love the heft of them and the look of them - enough space for each day to jot down a little pearl of wisdom or the nice thing that happened to you that day.  Lovely collage art starts each season and the calendar is one week at a glance.

Great gifts for you and/or your artsy friends.

And not from Amazon but from Sarah Fishburn and Angela Cartwright - I happened to be gifted with a copy of their newest QUartZ: Pasticcio No. 5, and was blown away.  This is a very meaty zine (QUartZ stands for Quality Art Zine and I can assure you it is most definitely that) filled with tips and info about art, movies, technique, music... beauty.  An amazing zine that is well worth the pennies!  You can find more information and get a sneak peek here or go to Sarah Fishburn's website.

Happy reading!
