This that and the other...

It's definitely a change of seasons, here, in Indiana... where it thinks it's still summer but it's acting like autumn (warm temps... no humidity). I am totally digging this kind of weather.
Behind our little house we have several soft maples that are just beginning to turn and I'm telling you, when those leaves hit their peak you have to wear sunglasses. They are a BRILLIANT red. It is a beautiful sight to behold. And with my thoughts anticipating those bright colors, I've been busy in Photoshop cranking out some new digisheets. Some of these new sheets come in "sets" - you get one full page sheet (8-1/2" x 11") and then a sheet with three ATC/ACEO sizes and a generous 5" x 7" (which means it's bigger than 5" x 7"). Always a bit of a puzzle figuring out what might be the "best" size for you, especially when that changes according to your project. So, I'm playing around with this new idea - let me know what you think.
And, yeah, I'm starting to work on Christmas papers. (You'll see a peek below). Rande has been nudging me to think about holidays, Christmas in particular. So I'm thinking kind of along the lines of non-traditional Christmas colors (a peek, below). Those will be starting to pop up in the next week or so.
By the way, for those of you who read my funeral dirge for my faithful printer who finally up and died last week (sniff sniff for real) I now have my new printer in place and I'm breaking it in at a mad clip. Unfortunately, new Betsy does not take the same ink as old Betsy, and of course I'd just stocked up on ink before OB went and pooped out on me. But that's what makes life "insterding" as my oldest son used to say. Maybe what I'll do is tuck that ink away and wait a couple years for it to become a collector's item. Apparently, Canon discontinues all the peripheral bits for a printer five years after they discontinue the printer. My i9900 went belly up two years ago? So three more years. A good hedge against the stock market.
Okay, one last sneak peak at another Christmas paper and then on to some goodies.
And yes! Good morning/afternoon/evening to you wherever you may be. It's so nice to see you, again.

I can't imagine how I ever did any art without some Stickles in it somewhere, I am particularly in love with the control and how you can paint this stuff in the tiniest of places. Several colors in the shoppe now. You can check them out HERE. |
|
More Primas in the shoppe. These are aptly named "Little Boo" (how cute), but are so cheerful and pretty I wouldn't stop using them after Oct 31st. Heavily embossed, patterns and solids, gorgeous jewel-tones. In a tube, you get about 60 blossoms. You can see them up close by clicking HERE. I'm thinking that Stickles would look awesome painted on these blooms.

Bringing in Maya Road for the first time and I have to say, their products are wonderful! I love their chipboard which is tucked into little tins or suitcases. These frames are tucked in a suitcase. You can see them in the shoppe by clicking HERE.

These pretty bits are in a suitcase, as well, and you get a bunch (how about 36). Ranging in size from 3"-4", you can also cut them up to use in your ACEO/ATC art. Stamp 'em, paint 'em, glitter 'em... sky's the limit. Get a closer look by clicking HERE. |
|
More great Maya Road goodies - CROWNS. You know we all love 'em. 36 chipboard crowns in the styles shown (two different sizes, three of each size), stored in a tin. Use the crowns, use the tins... how can you say no? Get a better look by clicking HERE.

There were so many new items in the Paperwhimsy shoppe I didn't know where to start. Since I love all the new Tim Holtz products, I decided to play with a few of those. I explain a little more about how I created this necklace on my blog. I also have a rusty screen assemblage using some of the new and some of the older items. With a little twist on coloring the frame. There are so many possibilities for the new chipboard bits and pieces, I'll share a few I have stasrted for some upcoming projects. When you have finished the newsletter, be sure to stop by my blog. www.paperwhimsy.com/rande_hanson Warmest, Rande

And other goodies you just can't live without...

|
Tim Holtz has a new addition to his line of cool art stuff: Keyholes. These are fab-u-lous. Perfectly weighted for mixed media art. I can so see a little Whimsy face peering through those openings. Click HERE to get a better view.

7Gypsies chipboard - three new styles in the shoppe. Above is Coveralls which has windows, labels and other neat shapes. You can click HERE to get the closeup view. Be sure to check out the other styles in the Paper Doodads section.

These very bohemian style blooms are from the Prima folks. Every flower is covered with a print - the colors are muted and the prints are fun! Love this set - a new addition to the Prima family. Check them out HERE.

This beautiful ric rac is so perfect for any art piece you're about. 3/8" width, it's sold by the yard. From Maya Road, I've been lusting over this stuff for quite awhile. You can click HERE to take a closer look.

Now 'tis time to get back to the computer and work on some digis. Please be sure to visit the shoppe and check out the other new goodies not listed in the newsletter. You can click on that NEW Goodies button, below. Hopefully, something there will inspire you.
And don't forget... if you've completed a piece and you used a PaperWhimsy image, please do share. I absolutely love seeing your art. It is a joy and a thrill for me.
Have a lovely rest of the day and if you're lucky enough to enjoy a three-day weekend then off to the art table with you! After you shop, of course. :o)
Many blessings!
