Spring news from Sutherland Farms
The snow on the fields is gone, the San Juans and the La Platas are still white which means plenty of river water and we are thankful for the winter moisture we received.

Seeds are being planted, plants transplanted and all are growing. Things are "hopping" on the farm.

Alot of you have emailed us to make sure we will still be there to provide fresh produce for your families and we appreciate your support.  We have heard from you the concerns about the economy and the food safety issues that have made the news. We want to assure you that it is our family's mission to provide your family with fresh, healthy, locally grown produce that will give you the best value for your food dollars.

Although the local grocery and other stores that market produce say they sell local and that it is as fresh as you can buy we doubt any of them go out and pick it fresh daily themselves and offer it to you within hours of being picked!

Only when you buy direct from the grower can you be sure it is  "local and the freshest"!

Visit our market on the farm or visit one of the local farmers' markets!

The market will open on July 6th and we look forward to your visit. Our business is seasonal so no one is there to answer the phone. Please email us at sutherlandfarms@earthlink.net and visit our website at http://www.sutherlandfarms.net

We will keep you informed about events, festivals and new happenings.

Remember that we host events such as family reunions, weddings, birthday parties and company events.  The Purple Cow Cafe caters farm events so no need to worry about food!
Thank you,
Sutherland Family
