MusicMakers Academy Newsletter
February, 2008
Greetings!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We are now in a period of "newness" at MusicMakers:
  • Our private lessons are now in the Spring Semester
  • Mini-MusicMakers is in week 5 of the winter "Bunny" session!
  • Our new Sound Beginnings keyboard classes got off nicely with a "do, re, mi" with Miss Abigail and a nice-sized class of cuties!
  • The Victorian has really come a long, long way with new lights, new rugs, new paint, new pocket doors, and lots of new details!
  • New faculty: Kathryn Stumpf (voice, piano, early childhood music), Dr. Al Leong (violin, strings), and Abigail Blough (piano, Sound Beginnings) join an already talented and educated faculty

If you haven't had the chance yet to stop by, we look forward to welcoming you and giving you a tour of our beautiful new facility, which happens to be 105 years old!

And, if you know of someone (friend, family member, neighbor, hairdresser, pediatrician, teacher, workout partner, coworker) who could benefit from the information here, please feel free to forward this email (see below).

Enjoy the newsletter...if you should have any questions or comments, please let me know!

At your service always,

Paula Penna, MMed., BMus.

Click Here for the Connecticut Opera Website's Online Guide to Opera Etiquette!

Take the familiar story of Cinderella, add some comic relief, a few plot twists, a delightful score and you've got the grown-up version of Rossini's charming opera, La Cenerentola. It's still the tale of the poor scullery maid and her cruel stepsisters, their ne'er-do-well father and the charming Prince. The Prince's search for the most beautiful girl in the realm to take as his Princess sets off a series of disguises and deceptions to be sure the woman he picks loves him for himself, not his title. And the opera, like the fairy tale, ends happily for everyone.

Making it a habit to attend music programs will make a big difference in a student's motivation to practice, enjoy and live music!
