Greetings!
Well, I've just arrived back from Tamera, Portugal - A model community of the future. Whilst I was away I had every intention of keeping you all informed of just what I was discovering as it happened. However, I was learning so much through the powerful inspiration I was receiving day to day, of how to create free energy, water and food for so many people on the planet. That, at times, it was too overwhelming to even consider writing back home.
Tamera has confirmed to me that all my hard work over the past 8 years, in trying to live my life more true to my nature (both inner and outer) and encouraging others to do likewise, is the right path to be on and so much more is possible beyond the growth model and conditioned lives we continue to encounter. There has always been an alternative available to us, something I have always believed in. Tamera and other centres like it, show us the way to a new existence. It has given me a resounding thumbs up to all the knowledge that I have been accumulating over these past few years. Stating that this is indeed the right knowledge to have on board. I hoped the experience of visiting Tamera would help me conclude my book 'Becoming A Butterfly', it will, but it may well provide me with another book entirely on its own.
For a brief summary of what Tamera is all about, please read on. In future weeks I will talk about just some of the inspirational people that I was lucky enough to meet whilst I was there. For now it is suffice to say that I had the time of my life, never before has it been so easy for me to offer my services (all of my services) for the benefit of other people and the project as a whole. I now look forward to the future we are all about to inherit with relish, aligned to what I believe destiny holds for us all. Further, inevitable financial collapse can only seek to provide the necessary catalyst, for the sheer amount of possibility that such a new way of life offers us all. There is a great deal of hope for humanity beyond our current existence, believe me, it exists within future community models like Tamera.

Tamera
A Model Community Of The Future.
Tamera believes that all of us should be entitled to free water, energy and food, and in a decentralized world all this is possible. By harnessing the power of the sun and creating water retention spaces within nature it is possible for us to transform our landscapes and create food through more harmonious permaculture techniques that better align with our environment than more traditional farming techniques.
Tamera resides within the Alentejo in Portugal one of the two most sunniest regions in Europe, The Algarve (also in Portugal) being the other one. Both areas in recent times have become very barren and have lost a lot of their diversity of life, primarily through the misuse of water, it being used (as with many other regions in the Mediterranean) primarily for tourist regions and an ever increasing amount of golf courses. Farming methods too have been practiced that have not been harmonious with nature, much fertile top soil has been lost through the felling of trees and having it being washed away by the same amount of rainfall that falls in Germany.
By working more in harmony with nature and creating water retention spaces within the landscape, especially within the hills and mountains of the Alentejo, the balance can start to be restored. Wildlife can return to the region and crops can be planted adjacent to the lakes or within easy reach of them, through various irrigation techniques.
By using innovative ways of harnessing the abundant rays of the sun in such a region then new ways of cooking can be created, as well as innovative ways of both growing and drying food, pumping water, heating it and generating electricity. The combination of innovative energy use and water storage provides the perfect ingredients for increased food production.
It is Tamera's plan to be able to provide a 50 person self sustaining village, that can eventually be rolled out to regions of Africa and other parts of the world, enabling people to access free energy, water and food for the benefit of their community. This type of technology only works within a community of this number of people and this is the biggest message for us all to learn from Tamera, that the answers to our problems lie in our community and our ability to get on with other people and work with them to create the necessary solutions that we require.
So the bottom line is that we will need to get to know ourselves better, so that we can relate to others and the world as a whole from a position of love rather than fear, treating others with compassion and understanding rather than anger, hate and frustration, so we can bring about peaceful solutions rather than ones that resort to violence and war. We have much to learn about ourselves, others and the planet but there is no better time to start and thankfully with communities like Tamera we have many teachers ready and willing to help us along our way.
