Jackie's Thoughts
"Life Coaching is an invaluable tool that
everyone
should gift to themselves."
Here is the interview I did with Jackie
earlier this month on what it is like to
experience life coaching with SYSF.
Jackie, can you remember what you were doing
back in July 2007 prior to approaching SYSF
for life coaching?
I had just started my own business providing
operational management consultancy, PA and
bookkeeping services. However I didn't feel
very sure about the bigger picture, where my
life was going, if my future was in Devon and
whether the dreams I had always had would
ever come true. I was attracted to SYSF life
coaching because of the focus on discovering
your life's purpose. I suppose at that point
I didn't feel I knew what my life purpose
was. I wanted to find the authentic me.
How did you feel about life back then?
"It was a nerve wracking time because I had
left a good job to become self employed. I
hoped that life coaching would provide me
with the tools to make the right decisions
along the way and boost my confidence and
motivation"
Having had coaching with SYSF on a number of
occasions through 07/08, how would you say it
has helped you progress your career and/or
your life?
"I think life coaching has stopped me from
drifting and going along with whatever life
brought my way. I feel more focused and
though things don't always move as fast as I
would like them to, I can see that goals that
I have been working towards are getting
closer. A lot of the things that I have
identified as important to me through life
coaching such as being more involved with the
community and taking on more interests, like
having an allotment, have all made life more
enriching, and have helped me progress to
where I am today."
What is it that you do now?
"I am still self employed almost three years
later and have built up a successful business
and secure income. I could earn more by being
employed, but one of the things I learnt that
I valued very highly during life coaching was
freedom and flexibility, which my job allows me."
Do you know what your life's purpose is
now?...........

Greetings!
"Whether you think you can, or you think you
can't, you are probably right" Henry Ford.
Last month I thought, I could evolve my
newsletters to concentrate more on you and
your inspiring stories rather than solely
being about me and Set Your Spirit Free, not
knowing where that inspiration would come
from. Wherever I have been this
past month, that inspiration has
burst forward and here I am already
manifesting what I set out to achieve, such
is the power of thought.
In this latest issue one of my long
standing clients, Jackie O'Brien kindly wishes to
share her thoughts with you on what it is like to
experience life coaching with Set Your Spirit
Free (SYSF) and how
this has led her to a life with more purpose.
(See
Jackie's Thoughts).
Pete Lovett reveals to us what has convinced
him to change his way of thinking and
re-engage with his passion for music. (See
Pete's Thoughts).
Anthony Robbins gives us 3 essentials on how
to change our thinking towards greater
fulfillment in our lives.
(See Anthony's Thoughts).
And I give you the opportunity to do similar by
joining me for my first Transformation Day of
the year on Saturday 24th April. (See
Change Your Thoughts).

Pete's Thoughts
|
|
At the age of 50, just having been made
redundant for the fourth time and his father's
words still ringing in his ears that he could
never make a career out of music. Pete Lovett
had 2
choices: to try and get a job in an ever
shrinking job market, or he could dare to
dream, think differently - and
follow a lifelong passion to achieve
recognition as a musician.
Having had a career in Sales and Marketing,
Pete's innermost desire has always been the
playing of music. As a guitarist, he has
been gigging in pubs around Devon, but is now
looking to see if his passion for music might
actually provide a living.
"Some people think I might have left it a bit
late, but I believe they're wrong, it's never
too late. My
experience is that great songs transcend
generations. I truly believe in this album
and the quality of the songs on it." The
album in question is 'Something to
Believe in', recorded with his music
partner, Sarah, along with the help of close
friends.
"The album's title'", explains Pete, "Comes
from a line in one of the album's definitive
tracks - 'Down and Dirty Blues'. With myself
and friends suffering the ordeals of job
redundancy, I started to wonder what there
was left in life for me. The more I thought
about it, the more I realised that the one
thing that's been constant in my life has
been the Blues - playing it, living it and
believing in its 'power' to enrich people's
lives"
We are all often faced with the same old
story, the same bad news, Pete has had the
courage to start to change his story, for the
benefit of himself and others and sing about
it. For him the way through is the Down and
Dirty Blues.

Change Your Thoughts
|
|
Join me on Saturday 24th April, for my first
Transformation Day of 2010
and start to
change the way you think about life. Be
introduced to the 5 essentials of successful
personal development and be prepared to step
out into nature to discover your very own
life's purpose. Leave the day
more certain of where you are heading for the
rest of your life.
Here's what others have said about the course:
I started the course having high
expectations, however my expectations were
exceeded. I would recommend this day's
exploration to all people of all ages and
abilities.
Today I was at a crossroads, now I have a
clear direction of my purpose in life, many
thanks.
I would recommend this course to anyone who
feels their life isn't going anywhere and who
feels that there must be something better.

Anthony's Thoughts
|
|
What might we have to do to change our
thought process? Anthony Robbins one of the
most published and famous coaches of our
time would argue that 3 of the essentials
towards having a more extraordinary life are
1) to gain clarity or focus, 2) get the best
tools, and 3) unlock what is stopping you.
I would argue that these make up 3 of the 5
essentials I advocate, i.e. 1) seeing the bigger
picture, 2) setting a strategy and 3) ridding
yourself of the things you have put up with in
the past. First of all however you must take
responsibility for your life and decide that
you really want to change. Once you have
established that and start to perform on the
other 3 then the 5th essential automatically
starts to
come forward, that of your own personal
leadership.

Happy Thoughts
|
|
Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, because they become
actions. Watch your actions, for they become
habits. Watch your habits, for they become
your character. Watch your character, for it
becomes your destiny. Anon.
Have you ever thought to bring attention to
your thoughts. According to Henry Ford "if
you think you can, or you think you can't,
you are probably right" therefore if you
think positively you are likely to get
positive things happening in your life. If
you think negatively you are likely to get
negative things happening in your life.
When do you get your first negative thought
on a day to day basis and how long does it
take to shift? Do you even know or are you
even aware of it when it happens? Are you
truly aware of that first negative influence,
when it occurs and what affect it has on you?
Perhaps you wake up in the morning under a
very comfortable warm duvet and hear the rain
battering on the window or roof and that is
your first clue that it's not going to be
such a good day. Maybe a relative screams at
you to get moving or motivated. You walk down
stairs and there on the doormat lies the
newspaper bearing all the most depressing
news that is happening in the world or the
latest celebrity gossip. Perhaps
the TV is on reiterating that same bad news.
An advert intervenes illustrating the life
you wish to lead with the consumables you
want to have, but cannot afford and that
leave you unfulfilled as soon as you buy them
anyway.
It is easy to see why we inadvertently live
with so many negative thoughts, because we
live in a world of distraction, rather than a
world of inspiration. It is our culture,
Morrie Schwartz would say "The culture we
have does not make people feel good about
themselves. And you
have to be strong enough to say if the
culture doesn't work, don't buy it."
So what then if you wake and it is sunny,
everyone you meet is in a positive frame of
mind and supportive of you, you chose not to
let the media or advertising into your life
or surround yourself with only positive news.
What then? Maybe it is time to try it and see
how your energy for life starts to shift. If
writing these last few paragraphs is anything
to go by you'll want to concentrate like me
on the latter.
To keep the inspiration going help me bring
more inspirational stories to you once a
month by continuing to contact me and
supplying me with newsworthy pieces of a
positive nature. Any more case studies like
that of Jackie are gratefully received
helping us both to progress. I hope you all
continue to gain inspiration from my
newsletters and the Set Your
Spirit Free service. Until next month goodbye.
