Inspirational Films
I was introduced to the power of 'The Matrix' through Neil
Crofts and his work with Authentic Transformation. In his
book, The Seven Stages of Authenticity, he is constantly
referring to certain films for inspiration at various times of
our personal development. The Matrix being one of them,
and Fight Club being another. It is sometimes good to look
at these films in fresh light when we have something to
cross reference with them.
One of the key story lines in Fight Club is the instigation of
'Project Mayhem' which is designed by Tyler Durden (Brad
Pitt) and his recruits within Fight Club to bring down the
financial institutions of Wall Street if not the world. With the
thought that if we were all to start again from zero, we
would live that much more happier lives as to the ones we
live today with the disparity in wealth that currently exists.
If it wasn't for government intervention, 'Project Mayhem'
could well be in existence today but primarily brought on by
the financial institutions themselves.
It doesn't take a genius to work out that if you operate a
system much like the banks do in the western world. Where
the majority of money is simply lent into existence. Where
only 10% of the initial deposit by any saver is required to
stay within the bank, the rest being lent out to debtors. To
then be
redeposited, and then lent out again, and so on and so
forth, with interest being added to the initial debt in the
process,
inflating the money supply with each transaction. Then
for the debtor or debtors not to be able to repay the money.
And for the lack of
confidence in the system for that to filter through to the
saver who then wants to
take all of his or her money out, which no longer actually
exists.
Is it any wonder why the whole system falls down like a
house of cards. What is worse nobody truly knows, I
believe,
how far the rabbit hole goes in this financial system. In a
debt ridden society
ultimately someone needs to pick up the tab or be
accountable, but who? I don't think even the bankers know
themselves. Answers on a postcard for this one please, to
myself and Gordon Brown.
Within The Matrix that we live in if one of us defaults on our
mortgage that person loses their house and that is a
tragedy for that person. However, if enough of us default on
our mortgages we all lose, and that soon becomes a
disaster. Our only escape is if we have escaped the
clutches of the system and aren't dependent on it for any of
our clients or needs. Those that have perhaps already
taken the Red Pill and are living in a community of Red
Pillers.
The point I am trying to make here is that there are a lot
more fairer ways of banking available on our planet than the
one that is in the majority of existence today, and where
someone or something can ultimately be held account for
their over lending at our expense. Originally our currency
was backed by a gold standard (solid gold bars) as a step
on from bartering. Environmentalists would swear by LETS
schemes and backing currency against labour and local
endeavour. The Muslims believe in an interest free banking
system, all look valid alternatives to the one we are
currently being presented with.
However we are far more than just our money in our pocket
or bank as Tyler Durden would say. To see the rest of his
speech on our modern society's predicament complete with
the odd swear word or two then please click on the link

Greetings!
Like Neo in 'The Matrix' every day of our
lives we are faced with a choice, to take the
Blue Pill or the Red Pill. Like vitamins that sit on our
breakfast table next to our cereal bowl, we have a choice
which to take daily, the Blue or the Red.
The Blue Pill keeps us in The Matrix, or grid, or system.
Paying all of our hard
earned cash into a process that ultimately
only really benefits a few shareholders at
the top of companies. Where our security lies
perhaps not as safely as one might assume. We kid
ourselves that in just a few more years, with the next job,
the next pay rise, the next house, we will be clear of it,
moving our way up into the higher echelons of the
hierarchy, where we can really begin to benefit. We will be
in the grip of the system for good many years however,
mort-gage quite literally means death-pledge.
We think we can live a fairly happy life by taking the
Blue Pill every day, oblivious to the true
reality of the situation. We remain in our comfort
zone, where fear and other people want us to stay,
but this does not satisfy us. It causes us unknown tension
and ultimately provides us with rather unfulfilling
lives. The exception to the rule being if our unique talents,
passions and purpose suit that of the system, of which then
we should be handsomely rewarded or not as the case
may be.
For the rest of us however we will notice an unease
within us that all is not as it should be, and this is not just
indigestion from the Cornflakes. Morpheus would say 'you
feel it like a splinter in your mind', you will feel
this every day until you decide to take
the Red Pill and follow your own authenticity.
Like Neo soon realises, it is not easy taking the Red Pill,
however it will ultimately lead you to a more fulfilling life. This
is the call to adventure which automatically starts the
hero's or heroine's journey. On this journey as in
Joseph Campbell's book "A Hero with a Thousand Faces'
there inevitably will be a road of trials, where there
will be a certain amount of internal and external dragons to
come to terms with, going into the woods to encounter the
shadows, moving further and further away from the comfort
of the world you once knew. Eventually though
you will find the peace within you that you seek, as you
start to know your true calling, where you begin to blend
the opposites of your being and are able to discover the
true boon that you need to bring back to the world
and share with others.
You will get help along your journey and I for one am
ready to assist at any time, when you come to choose the
Red Pill. Perhaps now is as good a time as any when
doubts are being cast over the merits of continually taking
the Blue, with the financial situation as it is and the grid
system beginning to look decidedly dodgy with our utilities
becoming ever more expensive and supply being placed in
serious doubt.
Others have taken the Red Pill ahead of you and are
striving for a life beyond the Matrix, maybe it is time to join
them, however, ultimately the decision is left to you to
accept or refuse the call. For further inspiration
from The Matrix click on the appropriate picture or
links below, other
inspiration from other films and media lie within the
rest of this newsletter.
I hope you will be suitably inspired to start to consider the
Red Pill at the very least.
Simon.

Into The Woods
|
|
Once taking the Red Pill there isn't one of us that won't
encounter a certain amount of self doubt on our hero's
journey towards discovering the dream that lies closest to
our hearts. We shall all have to go into the woods, lay our
previous traumas to rest, in order to become as good as
we possibly can be.
In The Legend of Bagger Vance, Rannulph Junuh (Matt
Damon) is a budding college golfer, winning
trophy after trophy, however subsequently being called to
war, making Captain of his division, all of whom bar him are
slain in battle, leaves him seemingly emotionally
scarred for life.
Reluctant to return home, Junuh then turns to drink to
deaden the memory cells as he puts it, losing his authentic
swing in the process. Down and out, a childhood fan of
his volunteers his services (unknowingly to him) to
represent his home town of Savannah in a golf
match against two of the greatest golfers the sport has ever
known.
It's a tall order for Junuh to return to past glories, but he is
befriended by an unusual style caddy, Bagger Vance (Will
Smith), who helps him find his swing again. However Junuh
still carries his emotional baggage with him, right up to the
point of the film where he can't seemingly go on to glory
because of it, the weight of his troubles proving too much.
He finds himself alone 'in the woods' wishing to pick his ball
up and walk off the course. He soon realises with the help
of Bagger that he has an a ultimate choice to make. One we
can all relate to.

clear benefit of a good coach or caddy in such a situation

Our Wants V Our Needs
|
|
As Tyler Durden would say or words to this affect, you are
not your latest piece of furniture from IKEA, or fashion
statement, nor the latest plasma TV, Wii, 4X4, Man
Utd team shirt or luxury condo. You are not your watch, car
or house. You are your own individual
talents, passions and purpose.
It is our need to feel accepted by others that drives us to
want the stuff that we do and immerse ourselves in the
retail therapy that we take part in, bringing with it only a
short term hit of happiness. The stuff that we perceive
emits to others that we are doing well, that we will be well
liked if we have purchased, probably brings with it more
envy and hate than acceptance and love.
What if we were just liked for all that we are as an
individual?
If we had the courage to speak out and say this is me and
I'm different and I'm proud to be different and this all helps to
evolve the world forward?
What if all we ever wished for could be granted at our front
gate, or in our own street, or home town? Would we have to
go half way around the world to find it?
Do you know it just might be, that all that we could ever
need does indeed exist right outside our front door or in
front of our face, if we can all have the courage to speak
up and out as to who we really are, and are prepared to
listen to others stating who they truly are also. All with our
own authenticity. That is all Tyler and Bagger and
Morpheus and myself are encouraging everyone to do.
Prolonging the short term hit of happiness into an eventual
constant state of bliss.

A Final Thought
|
|
"Humans are capable of a unique trick, creating realities by
first imagining them, by experiencing them in their minds.
As soon as we sense the possibility of a more desirable
world, we begin behaving differently, as though that world is
starting to come into existence, as though, in our mind's
eye, we are already there. The dream becomes an
invisible force which pulls us forward. By this process it
begins to come true. The act of imagining somehow makes
it real. And what is possible in art becomes thinkable in
life". Brian Eno.
I was provided with this piece of inspiration from the
Transition Network and their quote of the month.
Anyone connected to transition initiatives are prime
examples of people that have got up one day and thought
actually I'll take the Red Pill today and I'll start to envisage a
better future not only for myself but for all.
Other centres dotted around the country are also giving
rise to a life outside of the Matrix through various people
following and manifesting their dreams. Embercombe and
Findhorn to name a couple.
There are countless other examples of dreams coming to
reality not only in this sector but in others too in the same
fashion. We all have the power to do this once we put our
minds to it and start envisioning the ultimate future we want
for ourselves.
The final film clip below takes us back to Bagger Vance and
how he teaches Rannulph Junuh to see the field as he
puts it, to imagine the perfect golf shot. It is the same
technique with life itself, when finding your own authentic
shot at life.
What's your dream and how can you go about manifesting
it, making it a reality? Maybe it is time that you replied to this
newsletter and asked for a glass of water to help you
swallow the pill.
