From Fear To Love
The Seven Stages of Authenticity.
The Seven Stages of Authenticity is a beautiful book
produced by Neil Crofts designed to take you on a journey,
transforming your life from that of fear towards love.
I first came across Neil's work in February 2006, work that
immedately resonated with me, to such an extent that the
Seven Stages of Authenticity now forms the back bone to a
lot of the coaching I do with people.
Entwined with other research I have done in personal
development, thanks to Neil I feel I have a coaching model
to be really proud of and by introducing a client to the Seven
Stages of Authenticity along with other exercises I do with
people a
greater understanding of life and where you are at in
relation to it can be established.
Taking you from a feeling of being lost, trapped, unfulfilled
and in fear of life, through a place of searching for your ideal
profession, relationship, lifestyle and social circle, to
discovering a fantastic new set of options for your life, to a
place of commitment certain of where you are heading,
through learning about the world in a different way, to
connecting with one and all and our environment around us
to eventually finding unity in all that you do, to in affect
finding true love in all its forms.
It is quite a journey and it takes time and dedication to
achieve, but in the end is indeed achievable.
Neil provides inspiration each week through his Authentic
Inspiration much as I do monthly. I would heartedly
recommend anyone signing up to his regular Monday
morning pick me up especially when dealing with the
inevitable beginning of the week blues.

Greetings!
When endeavouring to compile these newsletters I am often
left scratching my head as to what topic to come up with
this month in order to help as many people as possible with
their
own personal development. I am
often left perplexed, but inevitably the Universe has its own
particular way of guiding me towards the topic I need to be
talking about and so it has proved this month with the issue
of Fear V Love.
We live predominantly in a fear based culture, this is fed to
us from a very early age when we are encouraged to
conform to others wishes, at home or at school, peers and
superiors seem to have problems with us if we are different
in any way from themselves. So we learn not to stand out,
not to be unique and are prevented from being
our true selves.
Once more the media, government and society in general
underline our fears by concentrating on everything that is
bad that is happening in the world, holding on to the
negative, creating enough diversion so we can't really think
about an alternative or what is right for us. Our
own authenticity gets suppressed deeper and deeper within
us.
If you are ever to study society from its inception and follow
it through to present day, much as Dr Clare Graves has
done through
Spiral Dynamics, you will soon begin to realise that since
we hunted and gathered, moved into settlement,
encountered colonisation, instigated empire building, and in
turn have initiated the monotheistic religions, the industrial
revolution and the environmental movement, we have
constantly been living in fear. Each social model evolving
from the previous way of existing in reaction to the
circumstances that were in evidence before.
Fortunately for all of us, out of all these social models that
have gone before us something new is happening,
something exciting, a shift in consciousness is now taking
place, moving away
from fear and more towards love. Where solutions are
being sought to encompass the best parts of all the
previous models. To be more inclusive, celebrate difference
and empower individuals. Even if you aren't aware of this in
your own life at the moment, it is happening, on the tips of
society change is beginning to take place.
This I believe is the greatest challenge we face in the 21st
Century, moving to a society geared more towards love
rather than fear. Whether this is dealt with in our own
personal development, in how we communicate with others,
how we operate in business, how we relate to our
environment or interact with society, how our media
communicates our news and how our government works
with its citizens. The more that we can all choose to operate
with love rather than with fear the better and more
rewarding our lives will become.
For more information on how to move your life from a place
of fear to a place of love, continue to read through this
newsletter or contact me today to arrange an appointment
in order to speak with me personally.
With Love
Simon.

Left Brain, Right Brain
|
|
One of Neil's most recent inspirational pieces featured a
woman called Jill Bolte Taylor. She is a brain surgeon who
has endured a unique experience, not too long ago she
suffered a stroke and being a brain specialist was able to
recount what was happening to her as it happened from a
left brain, right brain perspective.
As the left hand side of her brain started to shut down, so
the right brain became more into existence. Since watching
this particular piece of material I have wondered whether
the emphasis of left and right brain within us can actually be
compared to society, for left brain society is seemingly what
has been in existence for a few thousand years and hence
is possibly what needs to be adjusted within us if we are to
move from this fear based culture towards love.
It seems as if the left hand side of our brain contains all
things logical and rational, arguably is more masculine,
more yang and potentially contains more of our fears. As
we get more in touch with our right hand side of our brains
we start to act with more emotion, with more feelings,
intuitively, instinctively, with more creativity, in a more
feminine way, more holistically and potentially with more
love.
The important thing to grasp here is that within each one of
us we have the power to action one or other side of our
brain in order to find the balance within our lives and act
accordingly. With society however much as with ourselves
arguably we have been living an existence for far too long
with too much influence on the left hand side and not
including the right. A move towards the right is going to be
essential to bring more balance to our existence
individually and collectively.

A More Loving Community
|
|
Since my last email the PL:21 project, designed to help
encourage a more loving community in the future has
started to take shape within Ivybridge. Both myself and
Tess Wilmot have appeared on Radio Devon and local
publications are starting to pick up on our story.
Our preliminary event the 'Seedling Swap' raised £48
towards the initiative. Which at least should help us cover
the costs of putting on our first major event 'Message In
The Waves' which will take place on Wednesday 21st May
at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, Ivybridge to bring
continued awareness to the town and surrounding area
about the affects of plastic in our environment.
A more loving community will have to take account of
how it processes its litter and waste in the future in relation
to the environment around us and the other inhabitants that
feature within it. If you would like to partake in this event
please do not hesitate to contact me or come along on the
night. The more the merrier. Suggested donations are £3
payable on the door. I look forward to seeing you there.

Help Me To Help Others
|
|
Since publishing my first monthly newsletter last July. 9
issues have hit 3182 inboxes in total, of which 1182 have
known to have been opened through the more pictorial html
format, 38.3% to be more precise.
Please help me to help you and help others by helping to
raise my percentage if at all possible.
With the best will in the world, creating a legitimate database
from contacts that I have made at various networking
events and conferences I have attended, I am still finding it
difficult to penetrate the fear based culture I have already
talked about and the increasing amount of SPAM filters that
are now available on the market.
So if you can think of anybody that my emails would benefit,
please forward on any newsletters to them, encourage
people to sign up to my mailing list and add me to their
permissive inbox so that I maybe able to continue to help
you and help others with life coaching through Set Your
Spirit Free.
