Digital Audio & Computer Audiophile Computer Audiophile gets more hits than all of the the other AV sites combined and offers a very good primer for the self starters we all need to be in this new age. It is a good resource that is not to be under utilized. The FAQ section is a good place to start everyone off. Steven Stone also writes for various magazine about this space. See his review of Pure Music in January Absolute Sound. A solution for Mac formerly reserved for Amarra. Six Moons review.
Music in hi resolution form is a fast growing category. Many of us rip DVDA's for example. Some artists offer them directly from their own sites. We've found a sight that has live concert recordings pulled off mixing boards some of which are full 24 bit flac files!
A great place to find hi rez flac files is hdtracks, linn records and society of sound.

With its award-winning, intuitive onscreen interface, the Kaleidescape System organizes and visually catalogs your collection of Blu-ray Discs, DVDs and CDs in high definition with eye-popping detail.
 | | Kaleidescape Movie Server | Kaleidescape's exclusive Movie Guide, provided automatically through the Internet, covers more than 135,000 Blu-ray and DVD titles and provides video bookmarks so movies start instantly, without advertisements, trailers, or menus. It also provides easy access to songs on concert films, and control triggers for automatically adjusting screen masking, lighting, and curtains during playback.
VidaBox What's different about VidaBox™? Every VidaBox system manufactured is not just another box - it's a custom manufactured, engineered system that is built to your specifications. There are no "off the shelf" systems - they are build to meet or exceed your requirements, with nothing extra that you don't need.
 | | VidaBox Movie Server | VidaBox systems are expandable over time and allow you to "grow your system", preventing product obsolescence by allowing you to upgrade or expand the system and add more features. Start with a single system, and add in more components as needed!.
Apple TV If you had an old Apple TV you can appreciate many of the differences the new version offers. Since it is not a hard drive based device there is substantially less heat from theis device and subsequently fewer issues with reboots, etc. In addition it streams from your computers so hard drive space is limited to your computer and not the device. And we love that it streams Netflix and offers not just the queue but the entire Netflix library.
 | | New Apple TV | However there are some disadvantages. The new Apple TV has only an HDMI video output so it will not integrate into older systems or TV's that don't have an HDMI input, and we have had bad luck with HDMI-RGB converters. Also it only outputs in 720p so unless you have one of our 1080p up-converting A/V receivers you won't get full resolution. Also your iTunes must be open and your computer on for it to access your library. But for $99 it's a bargain!
