Marine
Subwoofer Materials
Materials
Testing:
Building
serious marine products requires a real commitment to environmental
testing and materials specification. To this end, JL Audio has
invested
in Ultraviolet testing chambers (to simulate years of sun exposure)
and
Salt Fog chambers (to simulate years of exposure to salt-water
environments).

Materials
Used:
-
injection-molded mica-filled polypropylene cone bodies with UV inhibitors
-
Marine-grade, synthetic fiber spiders
-
Centrex® polymer baskets
-
Gold-plated, marine-grade brass terminals
-
Marine-grade stainless steel

Steps to a Great Marine Audio System
-
Survey your boat. Locate areas where audio products can be
placed away from the water.
Schedule an appointment to bring your boat in or take photos of the locations you choose and measure the
dimensions. This will help to choose products that fit in the selected
areas. Together we will lay out the system. Determine where to locate all the
components and determine ideal wire routes. - Determine audio and/or video sources. Satellite radio and iPod's work great for marine environments.
- Consider adding a second battery to power the audio system and
upgrade the boat's alternator.

cutting-edge, ultra-long excursion drivers. These special, patented
drivers require proprietary assembly techniques and tightly monitored
production disciplines to ensure consistency and quality.
Enclosed Speaker SystemsIdeal for wakeboard towers or any tube-mounted application, these
beautiful enclosed coaxial systems deliver stunning JL Audio sound
quality thanks to their 7.7-inch JL Audio coaxial speakers. Unlike most
enclosed speaker systems, these feature 100% fiberglass construction
with a smooth gel-coat finish, for years of reliable service. Aluminum
decorative accents on the enclosures add a custom touch.
Each enclosure's mounting post is designed for full 360 degree
rotation and quick removal/installation. The posts are compatible with a
selection of mounting fixtures designed to fit a wide range of pipe
diameters.
Mounting fixtures are sold separately.
Enclosed Subwoofer SystemsThese beautiful enclosed marine subwoofer systems are loaded with our
premium M10W5-4 subwoofers and are available in two distinct looks:

100% fiberglass construction with a smooth gel-coat finish for years of
reliable service. The sealed enclosure design is optimally matched to
the M10W5 driver for clean, extended bass performance.
These systems do not include binding post connectors and must be
drilled, wired and sealed as part of the installation process. |
JL Audio Marine Amplifiers: MHD & M-SeriesJL Audio has tackled the challenges of marine amplifier
design with the same commitment to engineering and innovative thinking applied to their speaker designs. The legendary Slash-Series started it all with its
unique R.I.P.S. power supply and patented output technologies. The
affordable M-Series offers the same patented output technologies as the
Slash amplifiers with a more conventional unregulated switching power
supply. The revolutionary MHD amplifiers continue JL's tradition of
innovation with a remarkable high-fidelity Class D technology called
Single Cycle Control™. The MHD's finally deliver on the promise of
full-range switching amplifiers, combining outstanding efficiency, small
size and amazing sonic qualities. |
JL Audio Marine Coax & Component Speakers Acoustically
speaking, a boat is completely different from a car... simply painting a
car speaker white is not going to work. Each JL Audio marine loudspeaker is specifically designed and tuned for its intended duty in
an open-air environment, ensuring phenomenal fidelity at cruising speed
or while anchored at your favorite swimming spot. Apart
from sounding great in your boat, these products were designed to
sound and look great for a long time. JL's investment in salt-fog and
ultraviolet test equipment has paid off with significant advances in
materials to combat the harsh elements. They test every part of the
speaker, not just the grille, to withstand corrosion and UV tests that
far exceed industry standards. |
