Calling All Volunteers!
|
The Sturgis Library needs volunteers to help in the following ways:
- Work in the Library's Book and Gift Shop for a few hours a month. Book shop volunteers help sell books, put books on display, restock shelves, and interact with customers and visitors. It's a great job for someone who loves books and loves people. No heavy lifting required. Volunteers of all ages -- from teens to seniors -- are welcomed! Please contact Lucy Loomis, Library Director, at 508-362-6636 or via email at sturgislibrary@comcast.net for more information on this volunteer opportunity.
- Assist with our Mini-Golf Classic on Saturday, August 6th (setup) and Sunday, August 7th (helping during the event and cleanup). Again, contact Lucy Loomis, Library Director (see contact info above) to volunteer for this event.
- Help with shelving, processing, and organization of library materials throughout the year. This job requires the ability to work on your feet and move books and library materials on a cart. For more information on this volunteer job, please contact Karen Horn, Circulation Coordinator, at 508-362-6636 or via email at khorn@clamsnet.org.
- Help spruce up our gardens. We need help weeding, pruning, and cleaning up our gardens. If interested, contact Lucy Loomis (see contact info above.)

Calling all Readers
|
We need just a few more people in order to start a year-round discussion group for those of you who can't get enough of talking about books. Ideally, the group would meet once a month at the Library and each member would take a turn leading the discussion throughout the year. Antonia Stephens, Adult Services Librarian, would help coordinate certain aspects of the group, such as ordering the books each month, sending out email reminders to members and helping book leaders find resources for creating interesting discussions. We envision the group as being somewhat less scholarly than our winter Discussion Series, but we're open to whatever you want. If you're interested, please contact Antonia at 508-362-6636 or sturgisreference@comcast.net.
