Governor Quinn announces Mercy Housing partnership to help keep people in their homes
Governor Pat Quinn announced the creation of the Mortgage Resolution Fund (MRF) using $100 million of the state's $445.7 million in Hardest Hit Fund dollars to purchase notes in the Chicago area. The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) board today approved the new program, which will enable these loans to be permanently modified to affordable levels.

Community partnerships hold the key to neighborhood stabilization
Mercy Portfolio Services (MPS) administrators the of City of Chicago's $169 million Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) to purchase, rehab, and reoccupy up to 2,500 foreclosed homes in 29 targeted neighborhoods severely impacted by the housing and foreclosure crisis. MPS evaluates and acquires the foreclosures and then works with more than 150 partners to rehab and reoccupy the homes.

The Johnston Center Residences provides housing for individuals who have been homeless and disabled or are at high-risk of homelessness.
