Well, summer is lingering a little but before we know it the cool and wet will be upon us. I've wanted more warmth in my summer and happy for the warmer fall, but I sure do like the cooler riding we get here in the northwest in October and November. It also means breaking out the cold weather riding gear.
The duct tape repairs have fallen off my trusty old Gerbing jacket, so it is finally time to try out the trick new, warms up fast, jackets we just hung on the shelf. Or maybe get a better brand of duct tape...My old boots have begun to leak too..smelling just right though, so will be hard to part with.
Speaking of old and hard to part with - you will notice the picture of a really cool side car rig above. Kevin and Barbara Brooks have been back to Bonneville and you can read the story here:
Bonneville 2010 Wayne hopes to have them in the store in January to do one of our winter presentations so watch for it in the newsletter.
Our 2011 inventory is beginning to show up and we should have demo bikes available soon. Of course we are expecting the K1600GT and GTL but they won't be available until late spring - still no details to share on options or price point.
BMW decided to bring the F800R into the U.S. market and we should have one of those trick little bikes in January for you to examine.
There are a few 2010 bikes left in inventory for those wanting a good deal and I'd love to see them leave - I need the showroom space for the new stuff. BMW announced October promotions for some 2009 and 2010 models with financing as low as 2.9% for 36 months, for example - or an allowance for accessories/apparel. I have a couple 2010 demonstrators to let goof as well; good potential for you on those as well. Give Wayne or Jason a call...better yet, stop in and chat with them.
Our Ural bikes have been selling well and we are down to two Patrol 2WD models. One white and one black. Come in and get one so you can have some real fun when the snow begins.
Same holds for Husqvarna. We have good financing rates available - chat with Jason. His foot is healing nicely and he wants to do a demo day or two.
Our fall Bike Swap is October 15 and 16 which is always a good opportunity to sell, or buy a bike. A bike swap is a consignment event - that is, if you have a bike to sell we will present it, try to sell it for you, and only charge you 10% of the selling price. We do all the financing and sales deal paperwork as well as the DOL stuff. So if Craig's List and eBay have not worked for you, perhaps we can help. If you are looking for a good deal on a used bike then the Bike Swap could be right for you. We usually get a mix of brands and vintage. Check here for particulars:
DetailsLastly, Alex has an announcement below on Service Specials and Aaron has a few words on the new line of Schuberth helmets we are carrying.
There you have it for October. Time for Marty to get new boots and jacket to go with the new bike - did I tell you I really, really, really like the R1200GS Adventure?
Sincerely,
Marty Hamilton
