Greetings!

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Vendor Fair/Open House/Demo Ride day. We had a great time and hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did.

I was pretty well consumed after the festivities by Sunday evening but I was determined to have a ride on Monday. Pushed my bike out of the garage, geared up, and then just sat on it for a few moments.

It was one of those days; air temperature just right, smells of spring in the air, gloves that I've worn for thousands of miles just felt right - you get the picture. It ended well as I didn't hit anything, the bike ran superbly, and I avoided a performance award.

Every spring, at the beginning of the "just right" riding season, we host a Bike Swap. I mentioned it in a previous newsletter and it happens April 30 and May 1. We would like you to participate and/or encourage your friends who might want to sell a bike, or buy a good used bike, to come on down. Hours are 9:00AM to 6:00PM on Friday and 9:00AM to 5:00PM on Saturday.

The Bike Swap is a consignment event. If you have a bike to sell you bring it to the store any time from now until the event begins - even on the 30th. You spend about 10 minutes filling out paperwork. You set the selling price. You affix the hang tag, and we do the rest. We ask you bring the title (unsigned) or current payoff, owner's manuals, and all the extras you want to go with the bike when you drop the bike off.

If your bike sells we charge you 10% to cover the title/licensing paperwork. We can often obtain financing for purchasers making it easier than a sale through Craig's List or the newspaper.

We charge you nothing if your bike does not sell.

So, here is an excellent opportunity to move your bike to a new owner and perhaps even find a bike that you simply have to add to your collection. Each year we sell a number of motorcycles for Bike Swap participants and it is always fun to see what comes in the door. I know there will be a very nicely equipped R1200GS coming in for example.

One important note: We only deal with Washington registered and titled vehicles and we do not accept salvaged bikes.

Please, call me, Wayne or Stephen with your questions.

Look forward to seeing everyone in the store.

Sincerely,

World Superbike Race Tickets
All things S1000RR

I think there are some BMW oriented tickets for the World Superbike Race in Utah still available - if you plan on going I'd suggest you use the information below to get a really good deal.

Please be aware that the only World Superbike race in the United States, where you can also see the factory S1000RR in action, occurs May 31, 2010. BMW has a limited number of tickets available for this venue specifically set aside for BMW riders.

Here is where you go to get the details and sign up for special priced tickets. Use the password "S1000RR"  Tickets

Another great deal for BMWMOA and BMWRA members is here: Special Hotel Rates  use the promo code BMW

I attended the WSBK race last year and had a great time. The BMW tent served food and beverage, and there was special parking for my bike. I roamed the pit area and got some cool pictures. Of course, I'm going again this year.

Cool stuff for your bike and body

First off, a big thank you to everyone that came out to our Vendor Fair 2010! The event was a great success, and part of the success of every event is the folks that take part. Please feel free to email me any feedback, and I'll try to incorporate any ideas for next year!

One of the vendors we had here for the first time this year was Olympia. Scott, our rep, did a fantastic job showing off the new product but I'm such a fan of the new stuff I thought I'd talk about it a little more!

New from Olympia this year is the X Moto All Season Transition Jacket, or X Moto for short. Styled along the lines of a BMW Rallye Jacket, this new piece from Olympia offers a 3-jacket system to provide warmth, waterproofing, and abrasion resistance. The sales literature says:

-500 & 2000 denier DuPont Cordura (pretty tough)

-Mega Vent Panel system (lots of venting)

-Water resistant sleeve pocket (mapcase)

-Waterproof, Thermolite insulated 2 stage liner jacket

-Removeable CE armour at elbows, shoulders, and backrash p

-Cool mesh airflow lining (did I say venting?)

-Custom fit detailing at collar, cuffs, elbows, and waist

-Comfort neoprene framed collar (won't rub you raw)

-Scotchlite reflective piping (hopefully they'll see you)

-Connecting zipper for pants

-Six storage pockets (Lots of places for your stuff!)

-Integrated zip off backpack with hydration bladder

-Integrated, expandable zip off waterproof luggage system

(built-in spot for your rain liner!)

Anyway, it is a really nice jacket that also has matching pants! The best part is the price: You can get the X Moto Jacket AND Pants for about $100 less than JUST the BMW Rallye 3 Jacket! X MOTO Jacket MSRP $429.99 and Pants $249.99.

I think this is one of the nicest new products on the market this spring. Come on down and check them out!

Sincerely,
