Galen Welcomes New Campus President

Sarah Galen StudentPlease join us in welcoming Mary Ellen Kelley, MSN, MEd, RN, APN, CNS, as our new campus president.

 

Ms. Kelley has three decades of nursing and higher education leadership experience and has served as a member of the Ohio Board of Regents/University System of Ohio Registered Nursing Program Academic Validation Team. Ms. Kelley has served on numerous advisory councils, boards of trustees and college boards and has successfully led a number of nursing and allied health programs through programmatic and regional accreditation. In addition, she is an experienced grant writer, health care and curriculum consultant, and a professional workshop speaker.

Galen Softball Team

All Galen students, faculty and staff are invited to cheer on the Galen softball team. The team plays on Monday evenings at Rumpke Ballpark.

Students Participate in Local Health Fair
Faculty members Natalie St. Clair and Christine Dimaculangan coordinated participation at the Springdale Community Health Fair for NUR 164 Child Caring students. The Fair consisted of activities concerning safety, nutrition and exercise.
Student Wins Textbooks from ED MAP
Nicholas BurnsCongratulations to Nicholas Burns who won $250 worth of textbooks in ED MAP's "Fill Your Backpack" sweepstakes. Student Services entered all current students in the drawing during National Nurses Week in May.

Wednesday, August 4 - New Quarter Meet and Greet: All students are invited to stop by Classroom 1 between 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Faculty and staff from various departments are available to ask questions. Don't forget to stop by the Student Lounge for pizza!  
 
Thursday, August 31 - Career Fair: All students are encouraged to stop by the Student Lounge between 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm to meet representatives from local healthcare facilities and educational institutions.
 

Policy Updates: Galen's most up to date catalog and handbook are available for students, faculty and staff online. All are responsible for adhering to policies and policy changes listed within.

 

Galen E-mail: To ensure the best communication between students and faculty, please sign up for the email account offered through Galen College of Nursing at http://mail.live.com. This is the official means of communication between Galen and students. The naming protocol is: first name, a period, last name, @, nursing, period and galencollege.edu (example: nursing.student@nursing.galencollege.edu); students can then log in through the Galen website. If you are having problems with sign-in, contact ecullen@galencollege.edu.
