Due to continued demand from high quality independent local arts, craft and food suppliers, six new fisherman's huts will be installed on the South Quay in Whitstable Harbour.
2010 Harbour Smiths

Approval was given this month for the extra huts to be installed next to the large Information Hut on the South Quay. Applications are now being considered for March 2011 to December 2011. Application forms can be downloaded from the website home page.
Coming to a seaside town near you

Whitstable Harbour Village has always tried to be a home for local suppliers and independent local retailers fighting against the big corporate chains. French deliIt has also become a popular visitor destination and a powerful incubator for small businesses.

Since May 2007, no less than NINE shops and galleries in the East Kent area started their busineses at the Village.

We are now looking to take this success to other seaside towns on Kent's creative coast. So if you know of any suitable locations for a beach hut creative community in Deal, Ramsgate, Broadstairs or elsewhere please get in touch .

2010 Oyster Festival
This summer, the EPIcentre food and drink event in the harbour, formed the heart of the Whitstable Oyster Festival for the third year running. With 70 top quality food and drink suppliers on show, all agreed it was the best yet.

"That's our best Oyster festival yet" reports David Grey of Meopham Valley Vineyards.

Kapo Kapuscinski of Stylish Ice Cream in Broadstairs, went even further. "We do many events throughout the year, mainly in Kent but reaching as far up as Tamworth, and I can honestly say the Oyster Festival tops the lot in friendliness, the general mood of the public and the way it was organised".

If you would like to be involved in 2011 just send in an email and we will put you on the list.
Whitstable Harbour Village is operated by Kentish Trader Limited with the kind permission of Whitstable Harbour Board and Canterbury City Council. It seeks to offer a commercial opportunity to local artists, crafts-people and independent traders and provide a vibrant and local alternative to Tesco-Land.
