We are expectiing a full house for the whole week and will be open all day for the ten days of the festival.

New booking form for June and July now available...

Greetings!

Since our last update in March, bookings from local artists, designers and producers from across Kent have been flying in thick and fast. We plan to be on site from next week to start preparing the South Quay for the grand opening week-end on the 5th May. Work will start on the fishermans hut facade and turning the industrial portacabins into funky local trading zones. With the May schedule booking up fast, we are now taking bookings for June and July, including the Oyster Festival week at the end of July. Book early because some have booked this ahead to guarantee their place during the busiest week of the year.

Many thanks to those of you that have already booked in for the grand opening week-end and for the rest of May. Thanks to the press coverage, we are expecting a full house for all three days of the opening week-end and we are planning some live music and a major publicity campaign to start things with a bang. There are only a few spaces left now for the opening week- end but still plenty of availability for the other week-ends in May, including the second bank holiday at the end of May which should be a very busy week-end for visitors. There will be a really exciting mix of art, produce, and design from across the county. The list of those already booked in and confirmed as of today is as follows: Godmersham Game, Core Juice, Tim Slatter Etchings, Bekka Be, Whitstable Lavender Company, Jerry Vaughan Photography, Whitstable Soap Company, Ian Rendall Art, Whitstable Moments, Driftwood Art, Barking Dog Design, Whitstable Garden Company, Lee O Connor Jewels, Printerior Design, Haji Baji Curry Bites, AG 47 Jewels, Funky Duck Soaps

  • Having dealt with hundreds of telephone enquiries over recent weeks here are some facts we obviously did not make clear enough from the start. The location of South Quay is in the heart of Whitstable Harbour located between the fish market and the Harbour Masters Office. See the photo above. The Market opens on 5 May but will be open every week-end until Christmas and during the week at peak times such as school holidays and the Oyster Festival. The existing portacabins will form an internal market with mini- gallery spaces for artists, a food and produce zone and a retail and design shop. Outside will be a conventional market area next to the fishing boats.
