A Look at How the Krishna's Got it Right
Imagine, in certain
situations, being able to control the people in your life. having them listen
to you, see your point of view and feel the way you do on a variety of subjects, or just on that special topic.
Well, sorry, you
can't ever
CONTROL anyone, not even your nearest and dearest, and certainly not
your clients and work colleagues.
However, the good news
is that with good
INTENTION and positive
STRATEGIES you can create a powerful
sphere of
INFLUENCE. These strategies range from the overt to the very subtle.
It reminds me of the famous story related by
the author Robert Cialdini, who tells of a landmark study involving observation
of the Hara Krishnas in the 1970's, who gave away a flower to each person who
passed by. They did not ask for money, yet the urge to give back after
receiving, even a small gift like a flower, was so strong that the Krishnas,
through subconscious influence, raised millions of dollars in spontaneous donations
from those who were given the flowers.
Another way to look
at this is from the perspective that the author of the book 'Making Mega
Money', Mark Sneddon writes as 'Cause Another'. He describes having your intention to 'cause another' as a factor
affecting your own future experience. For example, if you wish to experience
abundance then cause another to have abundance. If you wish to feel joy, then
cause another to experience joy.
You may recognize the
"Law of Reciprocity" in the two examples above.
In short, it says
that what you give you eventually get back.
And moreso, that the
act of giving stimulates the urge to
reciprocate on the part of those who receive.
It is simple.
It is profound.
It works.
And you can do it
too.
So, although we can never control anyone
else, we can massively influence and
persuade others for better, and
there are tools, strategies and powerful behavioural and language processes
which assist us to do this effectively.
