Alumni Newsletter - May 2012

Thank you for welcoming me into the Concordia community. My name is Lisa Liljegren and I am the new Director of Alumni & Parent Relations. My eclectic background includes alumni relations experience with Marquette University, community relations leadership positions for both Whitefish Bay and Milwaukee's East Side, and executive roles within Milwaukee's advertising and public relations industries. I'm excited to combine my experience with your enthusiasm and the University's vision to build a vibrant community that serves Christ, the University and each other spiritually, communally and professionally.

From the new, state-of-the-art School of Pharmacy and the amazing Center for Environmental Stewardship to Kapco Park, a new parking structure and a new student union that will be constructed this summer, your Alma Mater continues its dramatic physical transformation. And as new programs are added, CUW continues to transform lives as well. Of course some things will never change! Our Christian values and fundamental beliefs are alive and well here on campus. As your liaison to the University, I look forward to keeping you updated on all that's happening here and learning more about what's important to you so that I can best serve you.

I hope to meet all of you soon.

Renewed By The Waters
Campus has been transformed dramatically thanks to the Renewed by the Waters campaign and the generosity of our alumni and friends. While we have not crossed the finish line yet, we are this close to surpassing our first ever comprehensive campaign goals. Will you help us finish? Don't forget that all first-time alumni gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to an anonymous CUW donor. That means your contribution of $25 will become $50!

To learn more about the campaign or to make a gift, please visit our Renewed by the Waters website.
Reunion Weekend June 29 - July 1
Alumni at Milwaukee Campus
If your graduation year ended in a 2 or a 7 this is your reunion year! The Alumni Relations office is shaking things up this year and celebrating ALL reunion classes instead of just the fiftieth. Activities will include a family-friendly Chinooks baseball game and pizza party, bus trip to the original campus, class cookouts, Deans' reception, President's Dinner and interesting roundtable discussions. Whether you make arrangements to stay on campus the entire weekend, or just bring your family for the cookout, we look forward to welcoming you back. Watch for a detailed invitation in the mail.
Play Ball!
Kapco Park
Have you seen the new Kapco Park yet? Playing host to both our mighty Falcons and the new Lakeshore Chinooks, our ballpark will be a great place to bring your family for affordable fun this Spring and Summer. As you'll see in the men's baseball schedule there are plenty of weekend home games to get you acquainted. I hope to be at many of them and look forward to meeting you in the stands. Starting on June 4th, the field turns wooden bat with the home opener of the Lakeshore Chinooks. Attached is ticket information. Sales are going briskly so make your plans soon!
