As promised I posted some photos and commentary about our GNO (see TGreporter) below.  

I've been going through some changes again, having re-started hormones, then stopped, then re-started.  

I'll post some thoughts, starting with Are We What We Feel, with follow up essays --  as I didn't get to the ultimate point I wanted to address in that one.

Drag Queen Winner to Appear in Gloria Estefan Video.   Estefan Enterprises & Granda Entertainment held a contest to find the ultimate female impersonator to compete for a unique opportunity to co-star in Gloria Estefan's upcoming "Hotel Nacional" music video (see it here).

 

Transsexual heroine in Mollywood. Kalki Subramaniam, transgender activist, actor, writer and filmmaker from Tamil Nadu is all set to make her debut in Mollywood.

LAST WEEK 

 

Encore For Hope.  Presented by the Diversity Initiative and sponsored by Metro Source Magazine, Logo, Kadmon and the American Cancer Society (ACS), the inaugural Encore For Hope was held at Providence NYC. It was an evening of cocktails and performances to benefit the society's efforts within the LGBT community. The eventing raised $31,000.  

 

The Photo on my NY Drivers License. Taking the license out of the envelope, I examined it long and close.  Despite the usual poor quality of many drivers license photos, I'm pleased.  I'm glad that before going into the DMV office I had remembered to freshen up my red lipstick and black eyeliner. I also blew dry my long hair to rid it of frizz that morning.

 

Transgender Chicago Police Department Ordinance Introduced.   After more than two years of pushing by local organizations, Ald. Proco Joe Moreno is poised to introduce a transgender police ordinance to the City Council next month.

 

Baltimore City Council Approves Transgender Rights Bill.  The Baltimore County Council approves a controversial measure protecting transgender people from discrimination. The bill was brought on by a high-profile attack on a transgender woman at McDonald's.

 

Transgender Child Could Be Sent to Mental Institution.  A local court agreed with the 11-year old's father that the biological boy should be institutionalized, while the mother appeals to a higher court.

Caroline Cossey

Caroline Cossey is an English model, best known after appearing as a "Bond Girl" in the 1981 James Bond (Roger Moore) film For Your Eyes Only, and one of the first post-op transexuals to pose for Playboy (also in 1981). 

She wrote two autobiographies, the first I Am A Woman as a response to being sensationally outed in 1982, and the second, My Story, during her long battle with the British government for the right to marry, as well as other transgender rights advocacy.
