Transitioning Through The Holidays. Not only has there been an abundance of positive events since 1/1/11 (what a magical number), but it seems there is even a positive multiplier effect of being transgender. The recent chart of my life's happiness shows a dramatically rising curve. Somehow, expressing my femininity is a catalyst working in tandem with my burgeoning spirituality and love of people and life.
Thai Ladyboys Embark on New Careers. PC Air, a new Asian charter airline, who originally set out to hire only male and female flight attendants, had changed their plans and hired four ladyboys to the crew on for their maiden voyage.
Slowly Getting Better. Transvestites and transsexuals in Argentina, who were among the most marginalized minority populations, have seen respect for their rights grow in recent years, especially since same-sex marriage became legal in this country a year and a half ago.
Roberta Dunn, 2011 Person of the Year. She serves on the LGBT Community Center of Charlotte Board of Directors and on the steering committee for the Mecklenburg LGBT Political Action Committee (MeckPAC). This year, she also served on an advisory committee for Mayor Anthony Foxx's re-election campaign.
Girl Scouts Disband in Protest over Transgender Kid.Now that Bobby Montoya is allowed to join the Girl Scouts in Denver, Col. however, Christian leaders of three Girl Scout troops in Louisiana are disbanding in protest, saying they are "horrified" by Montoya's inclusion and worry about the effect it will have on small children.
Madame Chairperson Now Mister Candidate. Prior to declaring his new gender in April 2010, Mr. Wymore spent more than a decade serving on the community board. He realized he wanted to become a man about a month before taking the chairmanship.
