A Piece of History

---A Very Good Piece of History---

Lot F211.1 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster

CSX3301

The title above was lifted from the January 2011 Mecum auction in Kissimmee, FL.  Here's a bit more from the same auction material:

"The first car in the third production group of 427 Cobras, this sparkling White roadster was completed at AC Cars for delivery directly to Ford Advanced vehicles in Slough, England. As such, it was never invoiced to Shelby American and did not show up in American DMV records."

CSX 3301 will be featured at the

March 2011 Snakes n' Eggs

26th March in Louisville at Wacky Willy's.

Located at the Bill Collins Ford complex on Bardstown Road.   CSX 3301 was just recently acquired by club member Kevin Collins.

We will meet at 10:00 on the 26th to get a bite at this casual restaurant, catch up on Spring's developments and take a close up look at a historic cobra.  Map follows, click on it for directions.

In other news

The 5th Annual Toad Hill Farm Cobra Run which was previously scheduled for May has been rescheduled to 20 August 2011.  Personal obligations and a full calendar overwhelmed the May date.  The Event List on the web site has been updated to reflect the August date.

Bonus Opportunity:

As you know the Shelby American Automobile Club #36 will occur at Virginia International Raceway at the end of May.   A number of us are going.  Here is a link:

Furthermore, Olthoff Racing ( olthoffracing.com) is investigating renting the South Course at VIR for a cobra track event on 30/31 May.  This is an annual event that provides the opportunity to track your cobra in a professional setting.   This event is NOT exclusive to Superformance cars.  Dennis Olthoff runs the event and this is likely the best opportunity to track your car while having expert assistance close at hand.  If you are interested then visit the site or contact Vince Lubbers who has participated in the past.

SEE YOU ON THE 26TH AT WACKY WILLY'S!
