Abraham CEO & Chief Appraiser Business Evaluation Systems Originally appeared in the BES Newsletter The Direct Market Data Method (DMDM) relies on the principle of substitution. A buyer will not pay more than the price at which he can obtain an equally desirable substitute. The DMDM method uses parameters of comparison in the form of income multipliers. They can be multipliers of income, either gross net or discretionary cash flow. The three most popular databases which supply the transactional data are; Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA), BizComps and Pratts Stats. A: Been in the Biz 11 years, with Joan who is the Broker and driving force of our business. First five in the background doing contracts and financials. 6 years as active broker. Prior I had multiple professions as a registered AIA Architect, military pilot, Airline pilot (briefly), R.E. developer, General Contractor in TX and CA, and then Chiropractor. Q: Do you have particular business types you specialize in, or a region? A: NO permanent specialization, however medical practices and construction related (if there were any these days) are of high interest.
