Diversity in the numbers: 60, 49, 33....
BoardWalk Consulting has long been known for the diversity of our placements (over 60% to date, by standard corporate measures), but in a recent conversation with a potential client, we were challenged about diversity of a different sort: "Can a firm based in Atlanta really do a comprehensive national search?"
Our egos said "Of course," but we decided to back up our response with a look at the data. As of July 30th, our in-house database--developed by the BoardWalk team search by search, one name at a time--is populated with sources and prospects from 49 states and the District of Columbia (plus more than a few other countries).
We're still working on Wyoming....
The research that surprised even us shows the full geographic diversity of our recommendations to clients: Since 2006, our final candidate slates--that is, the people we actually introduced to our executive search clients--have included executives from at least 33 states. We believe this reach may be unparalleled in a firm serving the nonprofit sector, especially one in only its eighth year of business.
Geographic diversity is a by-product of our work, of course, and not a goal in and of itself, but the facts do demonstrate our willingness and ability to go to great lengths to develop the best possible slate of candidates for our clients' consideration.
