Fast forward into Spring The Boston Flower and Garden Show, March 14-18 at the Seaport World Trade Center, will inspire your spring gardening. This year's theme: "First Impressions." See hundreds of rare orchids at the Lyman Estate Greenhouses in Waltham, and, through early March, its century-old collection of camellias in bloom. Thousands of crimson, yellow, pink, and lavender blossoms will fill Smith College's Lyman Plant House at the annual Spring Bulb Show, March 3-18. | |  "Art and Business in Partnership" is the theme for the Creative Economy Summit 3, to be held in downtown Greenfield March 23rd and 24th. Speakers range from Helena Fruscio, Creative Economy Director for Massachusetts, and Dan Farrell, producer of Antiques Road Show, to the keynoter Peter Kageyama, an internationally known authority on community development and grassroots engagement. That same weekend marks the kick off of the year-long Chatham 300 celebration - commemorating the town's 300th anniversary. First up is a community-wide weekend festival, with highlights to include concerts, museum open houses, historic tours and a Tercentennial Period Ball at Chatham Bars Inn on Saturday, March 10th. Greater Springfield

Massachusetts' largest St. Patrick's Parade (and second only to New York City's on a national level) takes place on Sunday, March 18th in Holyoke beginning at 11:30 a.m. This exciting event has been held annually since 1952 and includes an array of marching bands, dancers, a court of lovely colleens and a Grand Marshal, among other features! The parade makes its way through the streets of downtown Holyoke, drawing thousands of spectators ready to embrace the Irish spirit.

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst presents the exhibit "We Are the Ship: The Story of Negro League Baseball" through June 10th! Exhibit includes 33 paintings, 13 sketches and educational materials from the book "We Are the Ship: The Story of Negro League Baseball," by award-winning artist and author Kadir Nelson. Asco: Elite of the Obscure, the first retrospective of the Chicano conceptual art group Asco, is on view at the Williams College Museum of Art through July 29, 2012. Asco began as a tight-knit group of artists from East Los Angeles. Creating art by any means necessary-often using their bodies and guerilla tactics-Asco merged activism and performance. The opening celebration is March 2nd, and a symposium will be held March 3rd.
