Measure A
Time is running out to vote YES for Measure A!
It's not too late to have your vote counted, but our high school students need your YES vote now!
WAIT! If you haven't returned your ballot by April 28, DO NOT MAIL IT! You've only got two ways to make sure your YES vote counts.
Deliver your YES vote to the Election Office in Martinez ( 555 Escobar Street) weekdays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. On election day, Tuesday, May 4, take your YES vote to the drop box at the Lafayette United Methodist Church ( 955 Moraga Road) from 1-8 p.m.
Every single YES vote is critical. We must win this election by a 2/3 majority, so for every no vote we need two YES votes to win.
Remember, the postmark does not count. Your YES vote must be in the Election Office on May 4 in order to preserve our excellent high schools.
Why risk that your vote may not be received in time? Make the effort to drive to Martinez or use the drop box in Lafayette. Make your voice heard. VOTE.
Visit www.AboutMeasureA.org for more information.

Legislative News
This is it the final day of reminding you about Measure
A. Did you do your part ? I certainly hope so.... Did you know that one reason CA did not qualify for Race To
The Top Funds is because we did not meet the " maintenance of effort"
standard. In real words , the State does not fund our schools with enough
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ . Now let's hope next week's column is to congratulate
all of you for your efforts and commitment to your children's (and mine's) education.

The East Bay College Connection College Fair will be held at
St. Mary's College on Sat. May 8 from 1:00-4:30. The EBCC attracts over 150 colleges each year to the St.
Mary's campus for the college fair and provides breakout sessions on topics
such as admissions and financial aid as well as a College Counseling
Center. The EBCC is a perfect
opportunity to look at colleges, talk to admissions officers, and become more
knowledgeable about the process. I
recommend the fair for sophomores and juniors. Details of the day can be found at: www.stmarys-ca.edu/ebcc.
