We need your help. This is a quick, nine question survey which is easy to complete.

The Las Trampas Creek Council is made up of PTAs & Parents Clubs from the Lamorinda area and Walnut Creek. This group is about to start the planning for Advocacy Day 2009. Typically, bus loads of parents
and educators from Lamorinda, San Ramon, Richmond and Livermore travel to Sacramento. This important day includes meeting with our legislative leaders voicing our concerns for education.

The California state PTA credits grassroots advocacy efforts by parents with protecting education funding. Considering the dire conditions in education funding, our goal is to increase in parent attendance at Advocacy Day and thus increase our influence to funding education.

So please click on the link below and complete the quick survey by Friday November 7. Tell us your ideas for how to improve Advocacy Day 2009. It will take less than 5 minutes and will really help!

Contact Nancy.Falk@gmail.com for more information or to get more involved.

I encourage students to be careful and precise with the self-reported transcript portion of both UC and CSU applications.  Students are responsible for entering all coursework correctly, as it appears on the transcript, and to include any outside coursework.  Remember, neither of these systems will see a transcript with the application. Application workshops are on Wed. from 8:00-8:30 in room 105.

Diablo Valley College outreach will visit on Thursday, November 6.  Seniors who are considering the community college next year should attend the meeting to learn about the application, assessment, and registration process for the community college system.

Lafayette Library: Sweet Thursday November 13 at 7:30 pm

Celebrate your 40s AND the day your child goes off to college with readings from Knowing Pains: Women on Love, Sex and Work in our 40s and Writin' on Empty: Parents Reveal the Upside, Downside, and Everything In Between When Children Leave the Nest. These two heartfelt collections of essays take honest stock of the upsides and downsides of getting older and ushering your kids to adulthood. Readings, some by Lafayette writers, will make you laugh and maybe even make you cry! All net proceeds will be donated to breast cancer education, research and access to care.
