Greetings!
It's natural to think of Independence Day when July rolls around and of our National Emblem, the American Bald Eagle. The eagle is a magnificent bird and is included in the birds of prey family along with hawks, falcons and owls, to name of few, all of which I find fascinating. My fascination and appreciation for these birds recently led me to attend a Birds of Prey event in Brewster, New York which fed my appetite to learn more, get up close and personal, marvel at their beauty and admire their mystery, intelligence, instincts, keen sense of personal power, reserved confidence, razor sharp skill and grace. It's clear there is a lot to admire about these birds, but I think what intrigues me most besides their beauty is their projection of personal power, independence, wisdom and insight. I am also envious and in awe of their ability to soar high in the sky being able to look down upon earth and see far into the distance. Can you imagine having this ability coupled with a heightened sense of sight, sound and vision? Wouldn't it be great to respond at a moment's notice, with intense focus, clarity and purpose - handling only what's necessary - taking no more or no less than needed while making a respected choice to nurture and/or protect yourself? What a demonstration of independence, personal responsibility and vision. For more interesting insights, symbolism and awareness regarding these birds, click here to read my blog.
Just like these birds, we too have the insight and instincts to know how to take care of ourselves, but somewhere along the way, we've lost touch and allowed outside influences to dictate our choices and/or create doubt or numb our ability to know what is best for ourselves. If you are out of touch with your health and well-being and you want to get back in tune with YOU, you can first start by getting in tune with your own body; learning to live in it - moving and nourishing your body, mind and spirit. The Nia Technique is a perfect practice to assist in reconnecting to yourself, and if you want a more intense one-on-one experience to get back in tune in several areas of your life, my Soulistic Lifestyle Coaching program is a great way to get back on your path. So,on this Independence Day, consider celebrating your intuition by getting back "in tune" with yourself and remembering the independence in your ability to make choices for your well-being that are right for you! To the adventure,
