Dear Families and Community Members:
As a parent, I always reviewed personal safety tips with my children each spring, reminding them to not talk with strangers and to report any suspicious activity to the adult taking care of them. I urge you to do the same. The Nassau County Police Department has issued a list of safety tips for children. Please choose the developmentally appropriate safety tips and discuss them with your children. The flyer can be found at:

Nassau County is sponsoring a Safety Fair for Families on April 28th and 29th at Wantagh Park. This, too, will provide an opportunity for you to reinforce bicycle safety, water safety, and fire safety. The flyer for this can be found at

The Nassau County Police Department has also set up specific dates for community members to drop off unused and unwanted pharmaceutical products. It is incumbent upon all the adults in a household to prevent children from accessing prescription and non-prescription drugs. One of the ways to do this is to bring unused pharmaceuticals for the police to dispose of properly. The Nassau County Police Department drop-off dates can be found at:

Sincerely,
Adrienne Robb-Fund, Ed.D.
