My opening remarks in my last email are holding true - overall there continues to be a lot of homes on the market and sales are still slow.  Perhaps our lovely warm sunny weather is distracting buyers from buying?  But there are pockets of action.  Check out my market reports below - did you know that Van East is still a hot market?

 

I've caught myself referring to these warm days as Indian Summer - but according to the Farmer's Almanac, that's an error... read why.

Market Statistics for  August 2012
Check out these reports:  An easy-to-digest format that shows trends in average sale price, inventory (active listings), and units sold - by city and by housing type (houses vs apartments/townhomes).  For example, did you know that it's still a seller's market in parts of Van East?  Homes priced between $800-900K are selling well, and Main, Fraser and Hasting East are active sub-markets.

FYI, I still post the stats packages from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board on my website at How's the Market? Overall it was the slowest August in 10 years - but there are pockets of strong activity.
