Greetings!

Join us at the Focus on the Family!

On Monday and Tuesday, March 26 & 27, 2012 Dineen and I are humbled and thrilled to be guests on the broadcast. We will be sharing thoughts from our book and other stories. I know I shared about our  "Prayer Mobile" and a few other stories.

Our experience with the team at focus was amazing. The Focus ministry has a heart for those of us who are unequally yoked. I was deeply moved during our interview looking across the table at Jim Daly, the President, as he teared up over our conversation during the interview. Wow. This man has a passion to help, to encourage and to share the love of Christ with those of us who are living in a spiritual mismatch. All of the hosts, the behind the scenes staff, and even our tour guide, deeply care about the body of Christ, His church and specifically all of us.

Focus has also invited Dineen and me to be guest contributors to a LIVE EVENT through the Online Focus Community as well.

Please listen in to the broadcast on Monday and Tuesday. It's a 30 minute program each day. Search for a station in your area or listen online. (click here)Then join us for the live event Tuesday, March 27 from 5-9 p.m. Eastern, 4-8 p.m. Central, 3-7 p.m. Mountain, and 2-6 p.m. Pacific. Click on: Relationships and Marriage under the Community Directory. (click here)

We are really leaning on our entire community to help as there will likely be several streams of conversations about living unequally yoked. Please ask a question to get the conversation going or add to the conversation what God has taught you in your mismatched marriage.

You will need to sign up to participate. It takes only a few minutes. Please visit Focus on the Family, Online Community - RIGHT NOW- and sign up. We need to show Focus and the world that there is an enormous need for ministry to men and women like us. And we also want Focus to know that all their time, effort, and funding they invested in our community is meeting a need and is successful.

LynnI am an ordinary gal. Just like you. As I still struggle to take in this amazing opportunity, I fall on my knees with a heart of thanks. My extraordinary God thrills my heart and takes me to places like Focus on the Family. But more than that, I'm blown away that he loves me with all my flaws, failures and kookiness. He loved me so much that He answered my prayers to save my marriage. He brought us to a place of thriving and joy.

He has given me a passion and a relentless energy to love on our community of the spiritually mismatched. I'm praying in earnest that through this broadcast, men and women who are struggling alone in their marriage, will find us, will find hope. I pray that they find our Extraordinary God and never look back.

Please cover Dineen and I in prayer that we are able to meet the needs of those who find us through the broadcast. Pray for our protection and pray for our marriages. Right now, more than ever the enemy would love to destroy what God has healed.

If you would like to be part of our prayer team as the request come in at the end of the month, please email me. With love and hugs, Lynn

A Note From Dineen

Searching for Grace

Toward the end of last year as I prayed over an ongoing issue in which I felt I needed more discipline and self-control, God spoke three words to me:

Know my grace.

Since then I've been searching the Bible for a better understanding of God's grace specific to my prayer.

Then recently in my Bible study small group, a piece of the puzzle fell into place. The author of the study we're doing (Balancing Life's Demands by Chip Ingram) made an eye-opening statement:

"Grace produces discipline."

There was my connection. That which I sought as part of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) was directly related to God's grace.

Once again, I'm brought back to the Cross. And what better time than now as we approach Easter, to reflect on God's grace and what it means to each of us. If we are in dwelt by the Holy Spirit-the same Spirit "of Him who raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11)-then we have some pretty strong "mojo" working on our behalf.

I think the key is learning to rely on that power and strength from God to do the work in us instead of looking for the quick fix and do it ourselves. Isn't that always the challenge though, to let go and trust God to do what we can't?

So now my search is more about resting in God and trusting that though I may not have a clear cut answer to this issue, God is at work in me to bring the desired result.

I confess it is a challenge to stay in that place of trust, especially since I'm so accustomed to finding solutions and solving problems. But deep in my spirit I sense God's desire to do this for me so that I clearly understand He is the one who accomplishes this change. Not me.

Hands holding crossMy search for grace is really about understanding God's love better and accepting His love as a gift, not something to be earned.

After all, He loved us so much that He gave us His Only Son (John 3:16), right? As I said, back at the foot of the Cross. I think I'll sit and rest there a while.

Praying and believing,

Dineen

Thrive in love,

Lynn and Dineen

For the rest of you who are in mixed marriages-Christian married to non-Christian-we have no explicit command from the Master. So this is what you must do. If you are a man with a wife who is not a believer but who still wants to live with you, hold on to her. If you are a woman with a husband who is not a believer but he wants to live with you, hold on to him. The unbelieving husband shares to an extent in the holiness of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is likewise touched by the holiness of her husband. Otherwise, your children would be left out; as it is, they also are included in the spiritual purposes of God (1 Cor. 7:12-14, THE MESSAGE).

Let this passage bring you comfort and security. You are a follower of Jesus, and it's by your faith that He will bring about His good and perfect will in your home. Can I get an amen? Amen!
