Greetings!

One of Hope Family Ministries main objectives is to bring HOPE to people in difficult times. Here are a few words from some of our clients. We HOPE it brings you HOPE as well!

My Husband Left...

I came to Hope Family Ministries thinking I would go a couple of times and Mike would give me some canned response that he gives all women whose husbands had chosen to leave. I was wrong. He listened as though it were the first time he had heard the story. He gave me the tools I needed to navigate through a very difficult time. Since then, I have used the same tools to make my way through other difficult situations. I learned God's principles apply to ANY situation or circumstance. My walk with the Lord is stronger because of HFM.

I Tried Everything...

When I walked into HFM, I was very leery of what they would be able to do. I had been in

counseling off and on for 16 years. I was wounded, unstable and hitting the bottom. I was trapped in a life of coping skills that didn't work-coping skills that included alcohol, prescription medication, sex, and internet porn. Everything I tried was only temporary and I was searching for something that would last. I already trusted God with my eternity, but HFM would show me how to trust God with my increasingly unmanageable present life. I was conformed by the world through a broken past of childhood divorce, molestation, mental illness and bad sexual choices, even to the point of a suicide attempt. My counselor at HFM spoke truth into my life which I heard and began to trust and helped begin an amazing transformation. I now live my life knowing God loved me in my past, He loves me now and will love me in the future no matter what. I know how to live my life by the Spirit instead of the flesh. I no longer let the world define who I am. I let God do that. The process was not easy and at times was painful, but I had HFM to love me, support me and point me to the One that could truly help and heal. The 18 months I have been going to HFM may seem long to some people, but I have been helped more in this past year and a half than 16 years of secular counseling combined. I was trapped in coping skills that medicated my pain but didn't last, but I found freedom in a Christ who heals broken hearts. HFM convinced me from God's Word that I could trust God to heal me and put me back together. I have and He has. The Godly love and faithful friendship of HFM counselors changed my life and the life of my family. I am doing things I never thought possible. Thanks to God and HFM I am a better wife, mother, friend and witness.

I Felt Like a Failure...

I have been in church all my life, but no one ever told me about measuring progress and faithfulness by the fruit of the Spirit. Wow! What a difference it has made to shift my focus from all the stuff going on around me to how I am responding to it... fear or faith.

I Was so Angry...

I never learned to deal with my emotions, especially anger. Hope Family Ministries helped me learn to process my anger in a Godly healthy way. I am not longer wrecking relationships because of my anger and frustration but building them. Gone is the guilt and shame from my actions stemming from the anger and how I used to deal with it. This has changed my professional life as well as the relationships with my family, church, and friends.
