Quote of the Week
Greetings!

I hope that everyone's weekend is off to a fantastic start.  I had a great workout this morning.  I feel so grateful every time I walk into the gym and can push my body and make it change.  Not everyone has the will power or the desire to make changes in their bodies.  That is where we are different.  We are taking the steps that we have to make our bodies change for the better.   Be proud of yourself for getting up each morning and making it to class.  I know that it would be much easier to sleep through class in your warm bed, but making the effort to come to class each day is what will challenge your body and make it change!

Friday we had record numbers in the 5:15 class.  Only one missing member.  That is amazing for such an early class.  I can see how badly you all want it.  Thank you for getting up.  Thank you for making the effort and for working so hard.  Consistency really is the key!  Before you hit the snooze button on Monday, think about how amazing you feel after the workout is over.  Think about how energized you are all day.  Exercise does that for you!  Putting yourself first and making your body healthier is a part of your day.

Keep up the consistency 5:15 class.  If you are thinking about hitting the snooze on Monday, don't do it.  Put your shoes by your alarm clock and make the commitment to yourself to get to class and workout.  I will be there waiting for you to cheer you on!  :)  No excuses, no regrets.

Monday is weigh day again.  What have you done over the last two weeks to reach your goals?  Have you chosen healthier options to eat?  Have you gotten out and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and taken a walk with your loved ones?  Chris and I have made our nightly walks an important part of our day.  Don't wait, the weather will soon be a bit more unforgiving than it is now, so get outside and get moving.

This will be the last weigh day before the end of the competition, it is hard to believe how fast the weeks go by.  In just three short weeks, I will be up on stage (winning another trophy, if I have anything to say about it:).  My body has dramatically changed in the last couple weeks, and I am right on track.  I tried on my suit this morning to be sure, and I am getting there!  The two a day workouts are paying off.  The strict diet is worth it.  I am going to make you proud again!

For more info about this show:  http://www.kevinnoble.com/.  Apparently, the tickets to this show will sell out before the event.  We will be placing our order for tickets this week.  I am not sure if any of you are planning to come to my show.  I would love to have the biggest cheering section again :) but I do not expect you to make the drive.  If you are planning on coming, and want to be included in the ticket order, please let me know.  Seats are assigned, so you will be next to my family.

Thank you so much to those of you who have signed up for the Jingle Bell Run.  We have formed a MyLeanBody Boot Camp team.  I am so excited to have 15 members so far!  The race is November 14, 2010 at 1 PM.  Please visit our team page to join.  .  Please invite your friends and families to join us.  Chris will be running with the girls, too.  I would love to have spouses, fiances, boyfriends, nieces, cousins, moms, etc. all join our team!  If things go the way I have them planned in my head, we will be celebrating my win at this race!  Go Team Blaudow!!

Have a great rest of your weekend.  Thank you so much for your hard work!  Make a commitment to yourself and to me during this competition.  Give me your all and I will continue to give you mine!  Make the commitment that for the next three weeks you will do everything that you can to reach your goals.  I am going to do it.  You can do it as well.  Eat healthy foods.  Make good choices.  Stay active throughout the day.  Reach out to the others in class if you need support.  Ask me for help.  I can do it.  You can do it.  Let's work together.

Love, Emily
Italian Beef

It is getting cooler out so the time for slow roasted meats is upon us.  I have been making Italian Beef, and let me tell you, it is a treat!  This is my mom's recipe, and it reminds me of my childhood!  I have been eating it with sauteed mushrooms and onions - you don't need the bun.  Serve this with green beans and cauliflower mash, and you will be in heaven!  Thank you, Mama!!  Enjoy.

This recipe is a little bit spicy, so if you have little ones at home or don't like things too spicy, cut down on the red pepper a little bit.  :)  Cooking your meat like this is easy and delicious.

Ingredients:
4-5 pound beef roast
2-3 c. water
1 small onion, grated or diced
1 t. red pepper
1 t. garlic powder
2 t. dry basil
1 t. dry oregano
1 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1 t. dry parsley

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.  Mix spices in a small bowl, rub onto all sides of the roast.  Add water to the sides of the pan.  Cover and roast for 3-3.5 hours.  Or cook in a crock pot.  Mom always used to slice the meat for sandwiches, but now, I have just been pulling it apart, taking out any fat I see, and leaving it in its cooking juices.  Saute your mushrooms and onions to go with it, and pour a bit of the juice over the meat and the green beans for a super delicious and satisfying meal!
Saturday Workout

Well, the rain got our workout this morning, but hopefully, next week we will have better weather.   Let's plan to meet Saturday, October 30 at 8 AM at the IWU track for another great Saturday workout.
