What an amazing day we just had.  You all made this the best picnic that I have ever attended!  I am so impressed with the recipes and the dishes that you all made!  Everything was delicious.  And healthy!  I wish that the food at every picnic I go to was that good.  None of you will have to put a disclaimer on your food journals for this one!  :)
 
I want to tell you all again, Thank You!  I really have no words for my gifts.  I am so excited to read all of my letters.  This is THE BEST and most thoughful gift I have ever received.  I am so thankful every day that I get to see each of you and work with you.  I am the lucky one in this situation.  I am the one who wants to thank you for all of your hard work.  I want to thank you for your sweat.  Coming to a hot gym and pushing yourself at 5 in the morning!  You are amazing women.  You give me everything that you have, and then I ask for more.  You do it.  I am amazed and impressed.  Keep up the hard work.  It is working.  Your bodies are changing.  Your lives are changing.  Your health is changing!  Be proud of yourself.  Be proud of your strength.  You have worked so hard for it!
 
Thank you for coming today.  I loved having so many of you together in one place.  Ladies, you have an amazing support system.  I am here for you anytime you need me.  But please realize, there are about 55 other women who will be right there when you need someone as well.  I wish that we could have a picnic every week.  I love watching the friendships blossom in class.  Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that my little boot camp would turn into this. 
 
It is sensational.  You are all sensational.  I love every single one of you.  Thank you for the scrapbook.  Thank you for the gift card.  You are all so generous.  I love being able to see you through your journey to health and fitness.  I am the lucky one.  You all give me so much more than I could ever give you!  Thank you for being the amazing, strong, beautiful women that you are.  I am proud to have you as a member of MyLeanBody Boot Camp!

 And the winner is....Stacey!!
Congratulations to Stacey for winning the overall weight loss challenge!  Stacey lost 11.98% of her body weight in 8 weeks.  That is amazing.  Stacey, I hope that you are celebrating your successes in Mexico right now!  The class winners for the highest percentage of body weight are Krissy - 10.59%, Lucy - 10.38%, Sarah W. - 4.63%.  Way to go ladies!!  Keep up the hard work and the healthy eating!! 
 
The food journal winners are Maritza, Sarah B, and Julia.  Thank you for making the changes that you have in your diets!  They are working.  I am so impressed!
 
The most effort in class winners are Autumn, Janis, and Rachel.  They way that you push yourselves and keep up the positive attitudes in the 400 degree gym is amazing!  Thank you and keep it up.
 
Stacey won a free month of boot camp, a personal training session, and a manicure from Girl Friday.  Everyone else won a personal training session and a manicure.  Please email me to schedule your training session and be ready for another great workout!  :) 
 
Thank you to everyone for putting up with "Crazy Emily" (as Krissy fondly refers to me) during my competition.  I am doing another one on October 23.  It is a pro-qualifier.  Hopefully I will have the same success at this show as I did in Morton and I will be awarded my pro-card.  More details to come...but first, your next challenge is the "End of Summer Challenge."  Since summer is almost over, we will really push ourselves for the next 6 weeks to make amazing changes and be ready for the final long weekend of summer.  Labor Day! 
 
We will weigh in this week.  Our end of summer challenge will last until the 3rd of September.  I know that you all love a little competition, so let's keep the momentum going from the last competition, and let's make this challenge a reality!  You will see me get leaner than I was for my last show and bring a little bit harder body to the next show.   I want to see your bodies get harder as well!  :)  You can do it!  You are doing it!
 
I want my pro-card, so I am going to go get it.  Show me how bad you want to reach your goals!  Let me help you get there! 
 
 
 Recipes
I will be posting the recipes from the picnic on the blog or the google group for those of you who missed the recipes from today!  If you did not submit your recipe, please do so.  I will be sure to post them.  Thank you again for making the picnic such a healthy occasion! 
 
Since the Chicken Kebabs were such a big hit today with our guests of all ages, here is a recipe for them that looks amazing!  You can make kebabs with any meat and veggies.  It is a fun way to make dinner.  Protein and veggies on one convenient stick!

Chili Chicken Kebabs 
 
YIELD: 4 KEBABS
PREPARATION TIME: 15 MINUTES
COOKING TIME: 10-15 MINUTES

Ingredients
· 3 Tbsp / 45 ml best-quality olive oil
· 1 1/2 Tbsp / 22 ml balsamic vinegar
· Juice of one fresh lime
· 1 tsp / 5 ml chili powder
· 1/2 tsp / 2 1/2 ml paprika
· 1 large onion, chopped into thick pieces
· 2 garlic cloves, pressed or minced
· 1 tsp / 5ml cayenne pepper
· Sea salt, to taste
· Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
· 1 lb / 454 g boneless skinless chicken breast*, cut into 1 1/2 inch / 4-cm pieces
*NOTE: Use pork, beef or bison tenderloin or turkey as alternative kabob meats. A sturdy, meaty fish such as salmon works well here too.
Preparation
In a small bowl whisk together the olive oil, vinegar and lime juice. Season with chili powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pressed garlic.
 
Place the chicken in a shallow baking dish with the sauce and stir to coat.
 
Preheat the grill to medium high. Thread the chicken onto the skewers, alternating with chopped onion pieces. Discard the marinade.
 
Lightly oil the grill grate. Grill the skewers for 10 to 15 minutes or until the chicken juices run clear.
 
 
Saturday Workout!!
We will be meeting at our usual spot this Saturday for our Saturday morning FUN!!  8AM - IWU track parking lot.  I know how much you all love our runs on the trail, so we will do it again this Saturday! 
 
I love being able to workout outside in the fresh air!  We will try to go farther than we did last Saturday...which was farther than the last Saturday...
 
You are all getting so strong and fast!  I am endlessly impressed!  I love the Saturday workouts as well.  I will be running my sprints and bleachers right along with you!  :)

Ladies - I want to say thank you again for everything that you have done for me!  I LOVE the scrapbook and the handwritten notes.  You are amazing.  Thank you so much for the gift cards.  I am absolutely amazed at your outpouring of appreciation.  I love you and I am so glad that you can feel it!  I can feel your love as well.  You are so amazing and I am truly the LUCKIEST person in the entire world to have you!  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!
