Cowgirls and LaceOctober 2010
Greetings!

One of the first things you notice when you walk into someone's house is the unique scent of the home.  Don't you love it when someone walks through your front door, smiles and says, "Oh, it smells so good in here!"

These days there are so many options in home fragrances, and most are made to look beautiful as well as smell beautiful - great news for all of you hosts and hostesses out there!

Making Sense of Scents
Illume candles
Vibrantly colored Illume candles

Candles, reed diffusers, potpourri and room sprays - so many choices!  What do they have in common?  Essential Oils - that's the key ingredient in most fragranced products.

Candles

Candles are the #1 selling category and the go-to solution for most busy people.  When choosing a candle, keep in mind that the higher the essential oil content, the stronger the scent.  One of our favorite candle lines is Illume, which has a particularly high oil content.  (Sometimes the high oil saturation bleeds through the pricing label - now that's a lot of oil!)

Reed Diffusers

One of the fastest growing categories in home fragrances is reed diffusers.  They are sold in kits that contain reeds and essential oil, usually combined with water and alcohol in a decorative glass container.

As with candles, the higher the concentration of oil, the stronger the scent - and, the longer the lifespan of the diffuser kit.  We love a line called Agraria.  With no water or alcohol, the oils can last up to a year or more.

Tried and True Value

For a great product at a great price, try a #1 selling home fragrance line like Texas' own Tyler Candle Company.  But don't let the name fool you - they do a lot more than just candles!  Their line also includes reed diffusers, room sprays and car fresheners, plus laundry detergents and dryer sheets for your linens.

Throw in hand washes and lotions along with great gift sets and you have a pretty extensive line.

One last hint:  To define good value for the price, look for a double-wick candle with 110-130 hours of burn time for about $20.

It's always fun to smell new scents, and we have a great selection to keep your nose busy!  We'll also show you some of the beautiful reed diffuser bottles that do double duty as decorative accents.  Come on in and take a whiff!
