Fast & Fun is a unique program that provides sailing safety training for hundreds of "at risk" kids every year. The kids learn sailing and seamanship skills such as tacking, jibing, capsize recovery, trimming and knot tying. Through these challenging experiences the children develop important life skills such as increased self-esteem, communication, teamwork and critical thinking.
This unique, award winning
program is
partnered by Fairwind Yacht Club, Boys & Girls Club of Venice, the Marina del Rey Sheriff's Station and the California Department of Boating & Waterways. The program
has been recognized by US SAILING as
2004's "Best New Community Sailing Program", by the
California Youth Authority's
2005 "Distinguished Program" award and by the Boys and Girls
Clubs of America's 2006
"National Honor" award.
Space is limited. For more information, contact Carly Peterson at 310-574-5070.
