Pitcher's & Catcher's Clinic

 

The Berkshire Baseball Club and the Hamburg High School Baseball team have joined forces to conduct a one day pitchers and catchers clinic for players from 6-16 at the Hamburg Area High School Gymnasium on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

 

Pitchers throwing programs and  mechanics as well as catchers blocking and throwing mechanics will be covered throughout the day.

 

Former Pitcher for the Reading Phillies and current Hamburg High School Varsity Baseball Coach, Nick Evanglista will be among other Berkshire Coaches and Players giving Instructions at the Camp.

 

Cost is only $35.00 and all campers will receive a T-Shirt.

Deadline for registration is February 26, 2011.

Berkshire Baseball Featured at the PA Sports & Fitness Expo in Reading

 

Berkshire Baseball will be the featured baseball organization at the Pennsylvania Sports & Fitness Expo, which will be held at the Greater Reading Expo Center from February 18-20, 2011.

 

Berkshire Baseball has been chosen to give free clinics and demonstrations on hitting, fielding, pitching & catching throughout the weekend.  These demostrations will be very interactive and we are currently looking for some our players to get involved and help our coaching staff conduct these events and show the general public why Berkshire Baseball is the premier youth baseball organization in the area.

 

Any parents that are also interested in helping man our booth during the weekend are welcome as well.  Players and parents who are interested in getting involved, please contact Dan Clouser at 610-927-4306 or dcclouser@aol.com for details and more information.

Returning Player Registration Now Open

Registration forms for returning players for both our Summer and Fall Baseball Programs are now available on our web site.  Registrations for returning players must be received by February 15, 2011 in order to secure your roster spot for the 2011 season.

Hartranft Named as Quad County Red Sox Coach

Bill Hartranft has been named as the new Berkshire Red Sox Quad County Optimist team head coach.  Hartranft will be assisted this summer by his son, Billy Hartranft, Kyle Wenrich and Brad Graczyk.
Hartranft takes over for Dan Clouser who stepped down following the 2010 season.

Cabin Fever Gotcha Down?
Get out of the house and come out & support some of our upcoming fundraisers.
Are you tired of snow and ice storms every three or four days?  Then be sure to come out and hang out with some of your Berkshire Baseball friends and family at some of our upcoming fundraisers.
We have our next Applebee's Breakfast on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Applebee's in Exeter.  We have a pichers & catchers clinic at Hamburg High School on Sunday, February 27, 2011.  Our next Friendly's Family Fun Night is on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Friendly's in West Lawn and our Beef & Beer is on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Temple Fire Company.
Two of our partner organizations also have a couple of exciting fundraisings coming up as well, Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County has their Pink in the Rink event coming up on Saturday, February 19, 2011 as the Reading Royals take on the Wheeling Nailers and Children's Alopecia Project will have their Spring Spectacular on Saturday, March 26, 2011.
So come on out to all of these great events to reunite with your Berkshire Baseball friends and family while helping our organization as well as our great friends at both Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County and Children's Alopecia Project.
Annual Beef & Beer Fundraiser
Save the Date - March 5, 2011
The Berkshire Baseball Beef & Beer Annual Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 6:00 PM at the Temple Fire Company, 4963 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19560.

This will be the fourth year for this great fun filled event.  It's a DCgreat oppurtunity to come out during the off-season and spend some time with your fellow Berkshire family members.  You'll get to dance and enjoy the great classic rock-n-roll of Jiminy Slicket throughout the evening and take part in various chinese auctions and silent auctions to help raise much needed funds for the organization.

Be sure to invite all of your friends and we'll be sure to have a blast!

Tickets are only $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door.  Ticket price includes all you can eat food and all you can drink beer and soda.  We will also be offering a special designated driver discount ticket of only $15.00, you can still eat as much as you want and drink as much soda as you wish, just no Beer.

Breakfast at Applebees

Our next Flapjack Fundraiser will be held at Applebee's in Exeter. This event will be the third of our monthly events at our four different Applebee's applebeeslocations in our playing area.  The price is only $7.00 for adults and $4.50 for children under 12 for a delicious all-you-can-eat pancake & sausage breakfast.

Breakfast is served from 8 AM until 10:00 AM.

Berkshire Golf Tournament
20th Annual Event Slated for May 21
Berkshire Baseball will be hosting their 20th annual four-man scramble golf tournament on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Willow Hollow Golf Course in Leesport, PA. Entry fees run at $80 per player or $320 per foursome, and it is a rain or shine event. This event is a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
 
Choosing your own foursome is not restricted and indGolf Logoividual entry fees include greens fees, cart fees, all prizes, snacks after nine holes, and a full course buffet style dinner with beer and soda following the tournament. Team prizes will be awarded as well as individual prizes for Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and other various door prizes. The entry deadline is Sunday, May 15, 2011, however we reccomend that you enter early because we are limited to only 24 foursomes.
 
We look forward to your participation in this event and we thank you all for your support of Berkshire Baseball. Again, with the limited space, we encourage you to choose your foursome and register online as early as possible to avoid last minute difficulties. Thanks again, and we hope to see you all on May 21st.

April 3, 2011 - Robesonia Playground - 9:00 AM (Fall Only)
May 22, 2011 - Berks County Youth Rec Facility - 9:00 AM (Fall Only)
June 26, 2011 - Kutztown University - 9:00 AM (Fall Only)
