Where Did all the Jobs Go?

Last month marked the third anniversary of the Obama Stimulus Package.  Remember its goals:

1.  Save or create 4 million jobs

2.  Bring unemployment down to about 6% by the end of Obama's third year in office.

So, how's that working out?  In our last e-blast, we discussed the very optimistic 8.4% unemployment rate from the Obama administration-and how the Congressional Budget Office said it was really closer to 10%.  That's a far cry from 6%!

For a minute, instead of looking at unemployment rates, let's turn this all around and look at the employment numbers as reported by Congressman Jim Jordan and the Republican Study Committee (realizing that many people have given up looking for jobs and have left the labor force for retirement, further education or to watch TV and veg out).

When the Stimulus Package started in January 2009, 65.8% of those in the labor force were employed.  That figure dropped to 65% a year later in January 2010.  Remember the promised "Recovery Summer" of 2010?  The percentage by then had dropped to 64.6%.  January 2011:  64.2%.  Last month it was down to 63.7%, the lowest level in 29 years.

Whether Republican, Democrat or Independent, it is hard to find good news in these numbers.  Clearly the demands for 99 weeks of unemployment,  The Cash for Clunkers, the many crony give-aways (taking over GM and trying to push the Volt on the American consumer, Solyndra and the others as well as the Obama Energy agenda) have all been abject failures.  Americans are not finding jobs.

After three years of failure after failure it is time to look in a new direction.  America deserves better than it got with Obama and Crew.  But now he is entrenched!  Just voting against him will not be enough.  He has bought off the environmentalists, the labor unions and the radicals.  He is wooing the Black Vote and ignoring our laws governing illegal immigration to woo the Hispanic Vote.

We need workers who will help restore America to her greatness.  The Tea Party needs your "sweat equity" and we need to build up a big enough war chest to save our country.  PLEASE:  get involved.  Start by attending the monthly general meetings on the third Tuesday of every month.  Then sign up to help.

We hope that you can play a big part in helping us realize our goals:

·Recruit and Educate New Candidates for 2012

·Elect a majority of Fiscal Conservatives in 2012 into the NM Legislature

·Influence the NM legislative process to result in Limited Government Spending

·Encourage Transparency in that Legislative Process

·Elect another Fiscally Conservative US Congressman and Senator

·Influence APS and Albuquerque City Council Policy

·Hold Elections with Integrity

·Continue to Host our Signature April 15th Event

We made some in-roads in the 2010 election by electing 8 new members to the NM House of Representatives. However, we must continue our fight against progressives and elect even more fiscal conservatives in 2012. We are asking for your support in the way of funding and volunteer work, to completely turn the tide in our state and help our new governor

"Take Back New Mexico!"

The Albuquerque Tea Party is planning and building for 2012 and we have to start now!

We cannot afford to sit back on our heels in an off-election year and have the forward momentum of 2010 be reduced to inaction!

We have many goals for 2012.
