Call for Volunteers!
THIS IS IT!!
OUR LAST RALLY BEFORE THE ELECTION!
Our next rally is
planned for September 25th from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon. We want to make this rally the biggest
and best one yet, and it's time to ask our wonderful volunteers to step forward and help us
make it happen!
There's something
for everyone, and here is a list where volunteers are most needed:
Kids Activities -
There are lots of moms out there who have planned birthday parties for their
kids, and we need your expertise.
We need some fun activities for the little ones, and the not so little
ones. We need a committee and
someone to lead it.
Parking - If you
look hot in orange, we have a vest for you! We need a parking crew.
Decorating - If you
have a creative flair, the decorating is a lot of fun. We have some supplies and some ideas to
decorate the stage. We need people
to put up the decorations, blow up helium balloons, and just make the staging
area look nice and patriotic. We
need someone to head up this committee and volunteers to bring it all together.
Sound and
Electrical - We need a sound system and a few handy people to get it up and
running, including getting the electrical connections safely in place. Anybody with a sound system, please
consider letting us use it with your supervision.
Flyer Brigade - We
need some energetic people to get out in the weeks leading up to the rally to
get some flyers posted. We will be
asking the city's permission to post our flyers on light poles and public utility
boxes. We will also be asking
businesses and churches to post our flyers in their windows or on their
bulletin boards. We need people to
make sure the flyers get posted and to make sure they are taken down after the
rally.
Candidate Guide -
We need some people to do a little research on the candidates so we can create
a candidate guide to hand out at the rally. It's pretty simple and may only require a visit to the
candidate's website or a phone call to their campaign headquarters. We want to know where each candidate
stands on a list of about nine or ten issues. You could probably do the research on four or five
candidates in one afternoon.
Dot Brigade - We
have a volunteer who has stepped up to lead this activity and we need some
volunteers at the rally to get people counted with sticker dots.
Water Station - We
can't sell any food or drinks at this rally due to city regulations, but we do
plan to have a water station where we can give out bottled water in exchange
for small donations. We need people
to work at this station and we need people willing to lend us their ice
chests. We also need donations of
bottled water...lots and lots of bottled water, and ice on the day of the
rally.
In addition to
volunteers, we also need a few other things:
A boom truck for
our banner, a set of sturdy portable steps for the stage, mobile home steps or
something similar.
Remember, YOU are
the Tea Party and this is YOUR rally!
Even if you can't physically volunteer, your ideas and suggestions are
welcome. And, of course, any cash
donations would be very helpful.
