Poll Challenger Training

We are happy to
report that our Poll Challenger Training has been extremely successful! To date we have trained 90
people to work in the polls. Even
with that impressive number, we still need more volunteers to be trained as
poll challengers. It is vital to
have enough people to cover every precinct in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia
and other nearby counties.
Bilingual challengers are especially needed. We will need poll challengers throughout the early voting
period as well as November 2nd and also during the counting of absentee
ballots. .
In order to
schedule another training session in Albuquerque, we need at least ten people committed
to attend. Please consider
being one of those ten! We
also have plans underway for training sessions in Rio Rancho, Los Lunas and
possibly the East Mountain area.
Remember, having an
adequate number of poll challengers is critical in the upcoming election. Voter irregularities have been an issue
in this state for many, many years and we need to do everything in our power to
protect the integrity of our elections now!
IMPORTANT!!
If you have attended a training session and have not yet received an
email with the words "ATP Poll Challenger Training Information" in the subject
line, please check your spam folder first, then send an email to volunteers@abqteaparty.com. As is often the case with our sign-in
sheets, we have some email addresses that are a little difficult to read and we
have had some returned email labeled "undeliverable."
If you would like
to volunteer for training or just have some questions, please send an email to volunteers@abqteaparty.com

ACTION ALERT From Marita Noon Citizens For Responsible Energy
While cap and trade
may have breathed its last breath in Washington, proponents are still
fighting for a job-killing, energy-cost-increasing, New-Mexico-only
carbon cap (Case no. EIB 08-19). There will be a hearing where the
public can voice their opinion on August 16 at 10:00 AM
in Santa Fe. It is important that those who oppose the regulation be
present. Public comment matters. You do not need to be an "expert" and
you do not need to give a speech, but you should be prepared to simply
stand up and state "I oppose the NEE green house gas cap petition."
Based on the history of past hearings, you should plan to be there all
day and the hearings may continue for several days. (If you cannot make
it on the 16th, but could on the 17th or 18th, please call or text
Marita at 505.239.8998 to determine if the hearings are still going on.)
If you cannot
attend, you are still encouraged to voice your opinion via e-mail.
Additional information on the proposed climate change regulations and
instructions for submitting comments can be found on the Energy Makes America Great Facebook Fan Page.
The Environmental Improvement Board is stacked
with members hand-picked by Governor Richardson who are likely to
support the proposal, despite opposition by a broad-based coalition of
businesses throughout the state. Additionally, several of the board
members have severe conflict of interest issues. The Rio Grande
Foundation has done extensive work looking into the conflicts. Please mark the date on your calendar and plan to be there!
