The second annual Albuquerque Tea Party Tax Day Rally is fast approaching! This year, the event will be held on Menaul Blvd., between San Pedro Dr. NE and Wyoming Blvd. NE. The rally will start at 4pm and go until 7pm on Thursday, April 15th, 2010.

Once again, our friends Don Davis and Phil Marquez from KIVA 1550 AM, will be broadcasting live from the Tax Day Rally. We would like to ask our supporters who attend the rally to bring a portable or headset AM radio so that you can be informed by KIVA of relevant information, so that you will know what is going on outside your immediate surroundings.  Useful information they will broadcast will include traffic and parking instructions, attendance estimates, encouragement of peaceful protest and such.  We believe we can bring the crowd together as one through the radio broadcast in a very positive way.

KIVA will again be doing "man-on-the-street" broadcasts from the rally.  They will simply approach a random person and ask if they can talk with them on the radio. You could be asked on the air what brought you out to the rally!

Last year, every time that supporters were asked to be on the air, KIVA received well-spoken, well-reasoned, passionate statements, no matter the age, sex or race of the person.  It was an amazing experience which we, along with KIVA, very much look forward to repeating this year.

The Albuquerque Tea Party is throwing a Sign-Making Party in preparation for the Tax Day Rally!

When: Saturday, April 10, from 2pm - 5pm

Where: Paisano's Italian Restaurant, 1935 Eubank NE Albuquerque, NM 87112

Please bring your great ideas, poster board, markers/paint/brushes, most important, your patriotic attitude to our party. We will have approximately 200 sheets of large poster-board on hand. We'll need some "Picket Sticks" and staplers for the signs, so if you happen to have some of those handy, we'd all appreciate your generous donation!

Paisano's will have beverages available for sale during the sign-making party. They will be opening the restaurant at 5pm for their regular dinner schedule, so if you'd like to stay and enjoy a wonderful Italian meal for dinner, please do so!

The Albuquerque Tea Party would like to thank Paisano's Italian Restaurant for their generous donation of the use of their restaurant for our sign-making party.
