August Fishing Report

In mid-August SDP was pleased to host new owner of lot #15A Laura Freeman for a few days of fishing and Osa Peninsula adventure before finishing up her final semester of a Masters Degree in Geophysics at the University of Wyoming.  The often-described "professional badass" of all things outdoors lived up to her moniker as far as the fishing was concerned boating 5 amberjack 40-70 lbs. without any assistance whatsoever on day 1.  Anyone who has ever wrestled a big "reef donkey" to the surface knows, it is no easy task.  SDP builder Marc Leroux also landed two of the largest bluefin trevally I've ever seen.

On day two Laura and I were joined by mutual friend and owner/operator of the Finca Bella Vista Sustainable Treehouse Community Matt Hogan.  The fishing continued to run hot with several big amberjack, blue trevally, and albacore tuna coming into the boat.  The highlight of the day was a cubera and "guacamayo" snapper double header caught by Matt and I.

In addition to the great fishing we spotted a dozen humpback whales each day.

New Riverfront/Ocean Access Properties For Sale

We recently purchased a 7300 sq. meter (2 acre) lot on a fully navigable tributary of the Sierpe river that we plan on dividing into 4 - 6 lots of 1200-1800 meters (1/3 - 1/2 acre).  3-4 lots will be riverfront and river view, while the other 1 or 2 will have good views of the mountains to the northeast.

The non-riverfront lots will also have access to the river and the community dock slips that we plan to install through a registered easement.

The New  The Lots are Already Well Landscaped
Because the Estero Azul is a man made canal, the setback on all riverfront lots is only 10 rather than 50 meters.  All parts of these lots are flat, drain well, and are well-landscaped with mature hardwoods, fruit trees, and palms.

The river frontage occurs on an outside cut-bank ensuring deep water mooring for boats in all tides, 365 days a year.  The dock that we expect to build will run parallel to the river, and will be constructed in two 90' sections, thus giving each owner 30 feet of docking space.

These Lots are Located in a Quiet and Beautiful Area of the  The Lots will be Large and Private yet Affordable
Water, electricity, and extremely good road access are already in place here.  The surroundings are very private and very quiet.  Birds frequent the area and monkeys come through occasionally.  These lots will be a great option for someone desiring the unique combination of river frontage, well maintained municipal electric and road, tranquil settings, and close proximity to the town of Sierpe.

We expect to price these lots from $45,000 - $85,000.  For more information on these lots or any of our offerings along the Sierpe River please contact me by email ([email protected]) or by phone (715) 699-2715.
