Staff changes in the Autumn Term
Mr Sharkey
Mr Sharkey, who has recently been teaching on the Isle of White is to join the staff at St Winifred's in September. He is to be Form 5's form teacher and will teach English to Form 5 & 6 as well as ICT throughout the school. We welcome him to St Winifred's.
 
Mrs Florey
Mrs Florey will be taking a new role at St Winifred's in September when she takes over Upper School art teaching Forms 3, 4, 5 & 6 art on Thursdays.
Music lessons
notesMr Carrington, Mr Frampton and Mr Penrose all have spaces for music lessons this September.
 
If you would like your child to start tuition for guitar, piano, violin, clarinet, saxophone or recorder please fill in the music lesson form and return it to the office.

Judo

If you would like your child to start Judo please contact the school office.
 
Please note that Judo classes will be on Thursdays in the new term.
Street Jam
street jamFor Street Jam classes to continue at St Winifred's the minimum number of 10 pupils is required.
 
If there is anyone who is considering taking part in these classes please contact the school office.
Dress rehearsal for Speech Day
Speech DayAll costumes for the Speech Day musical entertainment need to be in school for this full rehearsal.
 
They will also be boxed ready to transfer to the Central Hall ready for the performance on Friday.
Nearly New Shop Monday 5th July 3pm to 4pm
tieI would like to thank Mrs Parrott and Ms Mylod for all their help with our Nearly New Shop. They have spent a great deal of time sorting out the stock during our recent changes in uniform and have through their dedication to the shop raised over £300 in the past two years to enable us to continue to subscribe to the magazines in the library as well as buy new books. They have now handed over to Mrs Rai and Mrs Carrett.

The next opening of the Nearly New Shop will be on Monday 6th September from 1pm till 3pm.
Speech Day rehearsal at Central Hall, Thursday 8th July
speech day trophiesPupils must be delivered to the Central Hall, Southampton at 8:45am to spend the morning rehearsing the Speech Day proceedings.
 
They will be returned to school by Princess Coaches for lunch and the afternoon lessons, and then collected from school at the end of the day as usual.
School closed for Speech Day, Friday 9th July
Speech DayParents, family and friends are invited to attend the School Speech Day at Central Hall, Southampton at 1:45pm.
 
Pupils receive the certificates and prizes they have achieved throughout the school year. After the formal speeches and prize giving the school presents a musical entertainment. Pupils are expected to be in their seats at 1:30pm.
 
The proceedings finish at approximately 4:30pm.

After Speech Day there will be a BBQ held at the school. Please email the School Office for BBQ tickets.
School Outings day, Tuesday 13th July
lemursForms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 are going to Marwell Zoological Park.

Reception are going to Longdown Dairy Farm
 
Nursery are going to Adventure Wonderland. More information from Nursery or the School Office.

Clubs this week
Times and days of the School Clubs for the summer term are on the School website. 
 
juggling ballsClubs are run by staff in their own time, so prompt collection from these is appreciated.  If you are delayed, please phone and let us know. If your child will not be able to attend a club please inform the school office or teacher concerned.
 
Clubs are as normal this week, but this is the last week fo clubs this term.
 
Friday
There will be no Choir due to Speech Day.
 
Reminder:  There are places in the Street Jam sessions for September.  We need to have ten dances in order for the group to run.  The children have great fun and it would be a shame not to be able to continue next term.
