 | Creating a Health Efficient Future | |
On September 9, 2010, Lehigh University and Michele
Stuart, President of Efficiency Engineers, will collaborate with health care leaders
from such prestigious organizations as, Geisinger Ventures, Capital BlueCross, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Lehigh
Valley Hospital and Health Network. This
distinguished group will discuss the development of an innovative,
thirty-credit professional Master's d egree program in Healthcare Systems
Engineering. The program will integrate the fundamentals of industrial and
systems engineering with a comprehensive understanding of healthcare delivery
systems and processes. Graduates will be perfectly positioned to streamline
processes and improve overall quality and efficiency in healthcare systems.
In an effort to create a comprehensive and
effective program, Lehigh is actively seeking input from a broad cross-section
of experts from the healthcare industry. The September 9 event will provide a
forum for discussion and an opportunity to provide suggestions and feedback

 | Continuing to Collaborate with Health in Mind

Efficiency Engineers and Mark Elder, founder and CEO of SIMUL8 are working with Geisinger Health
Care System to use modeling tools that will enable health care professionals to
streamline all types of hospital activities. Initial steps have been made to
model the supply chain & logistics process.
Efficiency Engineers is honored to collaborate
with Mr. Elder and Geisinger Health Care System on this project that will
change the management and productivity of our health care system. Mr. Elder, Ph.D.,
Operations Research, worked for other simulation modeling firms and taught
cour ses at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland before developing SIMUL8, a corporation that develops, markets, and
supports business simulation software that enhances the way people make and
communicate decisions.Geisinger Health Care System, founded in 1915, is
a physician-led health care system, dedicated to health care, education,
research and service spanning 43 counties of 20,000 square mile s and serving
2.6 million people. As our collaboration continues, we will keep you posted on
the development of this exciting project and how it will change the future of
healthcare as we know it. |
