Kellie Riper is Off to China
Kellie Riper will be visiting students and their teachers in days to come after completing her junior year at Mountain View High School in Bend, Oregon. Kellie and her stepfather, Kent Neumann, will fly to China. During her visit, Kellie will continue to foster relationships with staff from our school and the orphanage. These relationships are critical to the work that EChO is doing in this school in Kaifeng in the Henan province.
Kellie will be purchasing and delivering school uniforms for each of the 31 special needs students in EChO's school. Culturally, school uniforms are standard. EChO students will be proud to be smartly dressed for school.
Also on the trip itinerary is the delivery of gifts for teachers and school officials as we seek to show our appreciation for their efforts with EChO students. Gift giving is also significant in the Chinese culture. We do appreciate our teachers! They truly are the ones who work with EChO students each and every day.
Kellie will have the privilege of sharing letters from sponsors for some individual students. What a joy to be able to personally share a gift with these precious little ones!
Kellie is a young lady who has a global vision with a personal interest in EChO students. She will be a blessing to these students and staff, and represent EChO well in coming days. |
