Changing Times, Changing Lives
As we've said before many times, WWFC is an organization that lives up to its name! One of the ways we're doing that is in broadening our scope of offerings to include collaborations with other groups and presenters so that we can meet more of the needs of women and young women who are ready and open for change.
For the Winter Term, we're excited to be offering the True Body Project for Women. After a successful debut with the Teens and requests from adults for this offering, a 5 week course will be offered mid-winter. Details are still being worked out but stay tuned.
Also, a 3 week series of "Words To Live By", presented by Kristi Woodworth and Jennifer Sauers of "Beyond the Trees" will run from Jan 26-Feb 9.
And back by popular demand will be Coming to Home to Self, presented by Nan Fischer and Dawn Diebold Koch.
If you're ready for something new and different or just haven't been to Women Writing for a while, Winter, 2011 is the time to be here. |

We need your support!

It's not too late to help us meet our ambitious Annual Appeal Campaign goal of $50,000. Thanks to all who have already contributed. We have raised nearly $9,000 so far, but we are a long way from our goal.
To insure a strong future for WWFC in the coming year, we need everyone to dig deep. Your generous support, no matter the amount, can help us continue to empower individuals to streng then their voices, through the art of writing and the creation of community. 2011 Schedule is UP!
You talked and we listened! Some people told us that shorter semester lengths work better and some told us they prefer longer ones. So true to our philosophy, we chose BOTH.
Starting in January, 2010, core courses will be split into two 8 week terms divided by one week. So if you want a shorter term, you can do one term. If you want a longer term, you can sign up for both. If your small group signs up too, you can be sure you'll be together for 16 weeks. PLUS, if you sign up for both terms, you can take $50 off the price.
We will continue to offer a variety of programs throughout the year, including RETREATS, back by popular demand.

Writing Prompt I love the dark hours of my being~ Ranier Marie Rilke~ I love the dark hours of my being. My mind deepens into them. There I can find, as in old letters, the days of my life, already lived, and held like a legend, and understood. Then the knowing comes: I can opento another life that's wide and timeless. So I am sometimes like a treerustling over a gravesiteand making real the dreamof the one its living rootsembrace:a dream once lostamong sorrows and songs. Writing Suggestions
1. Write about how your body feels right now -- are you affected by the shorter daylight hours? If so, how? If not, can you write a story about someone you know who is?
2. Copy a line from the poem that strikes you onto the top of your journal page. Set a timer for 10 minutes and just WRITE, quickly, in order to stay ahead of that censor. Perhaps this line? a dream once lost/among sorrows and songs.
3. Do you believe that you can open/to another life that's wide and timeless? How do you get to that open place and what does it feel like when you are there?
4. Remember that the hustle and bustle of this time of year can swallow you up. Make sure to take time, make appointments with yourself, for quiet reflection and writing.
5. Remember to always obey your muse!
